I would say foreman with povetkin coming like he does gets tagged with uppercuts....povetkin feather punches wouldn't dent foreman and povetkin couldn't carry Morrison jockstrap

If Povetkin can do what Morrison did and stay away from his power he can earn a decision but I think Povetkin is too flat footed to pull it off. He hasn't shown me anything to suggest he can do it, he barely beat Huck.

More likely scenario is that he can't come up with a plan B when Foreman begins to push him back. Maybe Povetkin can survive to the end and win on work rate alone but I think it more likely he gets stopped. Foreman was very limited back then, he could be out boxed as the Morrison and Schultz fights proved, I just don't think Povetkin has the style to do it.

Povetkin wide UD. Foreman at that point was slow as molasses and very easy to outwork.

I think Foreman was too zombie-like in his movement even then to catch Povetkin if AP plays the lateral movement game.

What a ridiculous thread and obviously very disrespectful towards Povetkin.

What would happen in my opinion is either a TKO, mid-rounds stoppage from Foreman's corner or a very wide points victory for Povetkin. Either way, it's ridiculous comparing 42 years old George Foreman to Povetkin in attempt to bash the Russian.

if you're to beat that version of Foreman you either had to have good foot movement or good control of range. or preferably both.

Povetkin wasn't in possession of either.

Foreman KO mid to late. he isn't going to take the power of Foreman. no way.

so the likes of Holyfield couldn't stop him, even after landing a shed load of clean shots, but Povetkin will? :huh

Makes as much sense as picking old George to stop Povetkin given AP was never knocked down in his amateur or pro career going in to the Wlad fight and Wlad couldn't stop him.

This is gonna go to the cards, and I just don't see George winning that unless he got the usual comeback George scorecards that automatically screwed the other guy if George landed 4 punches.

Question is can Povetkin fight off the back foot and use lateral movement to stay away from Big George. It's one thing for AP to know what to do it's completely different trying to execute it.

The only fight where I have seen Povetkin backed up on occasions was Chagaev and he didn't look nimble enough to avoid even zombie like Foreman. Morrison was faster and more explosive than Povetkin and I'm not sure if Povetkin could do what Morrison did.
