Prime beast Joshua gave away 3 or 4 rounds to a past prime Povetkin so you have to think the prime version would give Foreman some trouble, even the 70s version. Stands too reason.

Povetkin was already close to 40 in this fight, even if you don't watch boxing at least read boxrec more carefully.

Just to clear this up, we’re talking about prime Old Foreman not prime Young Foreman or Old Young Foreman who lost to Young or Old Old Foreman.

Couple of problems with this post.

First, Povetkin wasn't prime when he fought Rudenko.

Second, Rudenko is known for having an iron chin, so not stopping him is nothing to be ashamed of.

Third, the Browne Rudenko fight was a robbery win for Browne, which anyone would know if they'd actually seen the fight.

Lastly, 42 isn't prime for any fighter, and Foreman was visibly diminished in his comeback for anyone sane to warrant putting him in their top five heavyweights of all time list. That's what we're discussing here, not the prime version.

A better quality of fighters than Foreman beat in his comeback, I'm sure you'll agree.

Foreman's best name wins post comeback read as follows: Moorer, Coney, Qawi, Cooper, Stewart, Coetzer, Schultz, Savarese.

Compare that to Povetkin, whose best wins are: Chagaev, Byrd, Huck, Chambers, Charr, Takam, Perez, Wach and Larry Donald.

You want to make a reasoned argument that Foreman's resume beats out Povetkins based on those names (or any other names you think worth mentioning)?

It also needs to be said that Cooper had a blowout with cocaine and hookers on the night before the fight (supplied by Don King if I remember correctly), and Qawi and Cooney were shot. Nobody thinks he beat Schultz either.

Just saying that Foreman won a World Tiltle at 45 age was not an excuse with that Old Man...Povetkin should not be mentioned in the same Breath as Foreman aged 42 or Prime...just an opinion don't take it personally...

Big George would have stopped him. He was superhuman. Such a tragedy Foreman let the Ali defeat alter his career. He was a beast and would have dominated the HW division if he had stuck with it and taken some good advice. He let his ego get the best of him. Instead he did his stint "in the desert" and we were all deprived of watching him in his prime. I've never seen a guy hit harder with more knowledge of placement of punches than George.
