Just because one guy can do something doesn't mean another totally different guy can do the same.

Eddie Chambers isn't Jimmy Young , Chambers is Chambers.

Chambers isn't a fleet footed spoiler like Young , he's more flat footed which his why he often employs the high guard as defense.
Young danced away and repeatably grabbed a dehydrated , lazy and physiologically impaired Foreman. He spent portions of the fight literally running for his life after taking a hard shot.

Chambers doesn't move like that and presents an easier target to hit for Foreman.

Chambers barely beat Calvin Brock , lost to Adamek , lost to Povetkin , lost to Wlad and couldn't get past the jab of Jerry Washington to save his life and lost every round trying.
He hasn't a prayer of beating Foreman.

Comeback Foreman 88-92 was better in some ways to his younger self. His jab was longer and much harder.
He boxed smarter and had a good engine for 12 round with a decent work rate.

A fight with Chambers would go exactly as his fight against Jerry Coatzer went. Looking at Coatzers fights , he was slightly more athletic than Chambers yet he still took a career ending beating.
Foreman I and II would run right through Chambers in a one sided mismatch.

Stewart was down twice and was very nearly blasted out for the count in just the second round. He hoped on his bike and counter punched on the back foot for the rest of the fight.

Povetkin doesn't have that plan B gameplan , so he would continue to get hurt as he came forward.
No man can continuously walk forward on Foreman and live to tell the tale. Especially not a head first guy like Povetkin.

Nonsense! Chambers has as fast, if not faster feet than Jimmy Young. He uses a high guard. So what? he uses multiple layers of defense. That doesn't mean he doesn't have fast feet.

Jimmy Young has around 20 losses and lost to multiple nobodies. Yes, guys who are far worse than Washington.

Eddie Chambers can do EVERYTHING Jimmy Young can do, plus more.

Eddie Chambers would do to Foreman, what he did to Samuel Peter. Don't like the comparison? Well I don't either, when you compare Chambers to Pierre Coetzer.

I don't have to believe Foreman was this unstoppable monster, when he was dropped and had his power totally exposed against a guy with near 20 losses. Foreman's power was exposed against Axel Schulz for goodness sake, along with Alex Stewart.

Foreman couldn't even stop Alex Stewart and needed a majority decision to win, but he is definitively going to run through Eddie Chambers (a guy with more proven durability) like nothing? Maybe you believe in that nonsensical delusion, but I don't, and don't need to either.

And let's not forget that this 6'0 197lb journeyman from Argentina lasted 10 rounds twice with Foreman.

Yet, Povetkin is guaranteed to get knocked out? Gimme a break you nostalgic fanatics!

The am forced to agree with the main synopsis here , most agree that Povetkin would make a tough opponent for 42yr Foreman , however , his come forward , throwing hooks style would be his downfall , Foremans Criss Cross (Archie Moore) defence and the sheer size of his arms would negate these hooks , he would have to decieve and feint just to get inside , also Foreman had a sound chin ...so i see Povetkin lasting til late then getting Cooney'd

I can't think of a single other fight where Morrison tried to move around, and Morrison is half the fighter Povetkin is. Foreman beat a single ranked fighter in his comeback and he was way down on the cards.

this thread is a joke - old Foreman actually won several title, Pov never came close.

foreman smash him. People overrate Pov in order to big up Wlad, I suspect - without Pov, Wlad loses a whole third of his fairly decent opposition in title defences.

Thats said, on his PEDs, Pov has proved a pretty good opponent,a definite contender.

The Povetkin who moved in and out on Joshua out points Foreman.

One thing about Povetkin is he's a very smart fighter , he would know not to stay in front of foreman who would need a Moorer like moment to win.

I don't see Povetkin stopping him ,he would need a UD which is shown is very likely with Foremans own 90's fights. Could foreman do a Klitchko performance? Not really bc he didn't fight like that.

lets say 40 year old Povetkin out lasts 42 year old foreman.

It should be noted I had Foreman winning this match other times but Povetkin showcase against Joshua really showed he will move and pick his moments if up against much bigger threats, Foreman does not possess Joshuas reach or in and out movements with hand speed ,it will be a very winnable fight for Povetkin far more then what he had with Joshua.

Sacha wins 2 rounds vs. Wilder, and suddenly everyone has Povetkin Fever. Foreman would crush this tiny man.

He didn't win any rounds with Wilder ,he did win the court room fight though.

Povetkin would also be bigger then Alex Stewart who was all foreman could handle,i wouldn't say size is a factor here with povetkin a puncher as well with much better boxing then anyone Foreman actually fought outside Holyfield who was not a puncher and a 205 natural fighter.

Povetkin, at 6-2, 225-30 had better stamina, better skills, and much better infighting than 1970s Foreman who at his best (Frazier fight) was 6-3, 217. The first 3 rounds would be competitive, then Foreman would fatigue, weaken, get sloppy, and Povetkin would take him apart on the inside. Povetkin would stop Foreman anytime after the third round, similar to the Takam fight except the young Foreman wouldn't have the stamina of Takam. Povetkin is levels above the 70s Foreman.

The comeback Foreman of the 80s and 90s was better than the 70s Foreman. Bigger, stronger, more relaxed, better skilled, but although that version might go the distance with Povetkin, he'd still lose. Povetkin's in fighting would be too much for any version of Foreman.

I agree fully...Foreman over 70 Fights and TKOd once....Fought till the age of 48 for God sake 42 Year old when he went the Distance with a near Prime Holyfield...People over Rate Povetkin Big time....Povetkin is not knocking a 42 Year old George Foreman out end of story his chin was Granite....But Foreman even at 42 would have a real chance of finishing Povetkin early...

Who has the Russian Hype job ever beat ?.....Easy answer , nobody of any note...while hiding in Russia not being "ready"..........he stepped up twice and got rag dolled in the first one by a glass chinned gun shy safety first WK and got caved in against a Greenhorn while lunging in with telegraphed hooks...

Povetkin eats way too much leather even against washed up ham and eggers, you aint standing in front of Foreman , young or old trying to trade hooks with almost nil lateral movement......plus I am not sold on Povetkins chin, he took a minimum of punishment against AJ and was essentailly stopped by one good shot ....but but but he was old...lol.....a shot to shid shell of a shell Tyson took Lewis's best right hands flush for 8 rounds where Lewis did a target practise run for 7.......

All those Red Army fighters are "killers' according to their fan girls but the moment they step up they cannot deliver as advertised....see Jirov/Povetkin/GGG/Kova....
