Round 2 Nonstop clinching. Farias tries to get a few left hooks in to the body as Chavez fakes left and then falls in to wrap him up. Wild hook by Chavez leaping cumbersomely upward and shaking the canvas when he lands after missing...atop Farias, with another clinch. Farias drops his head forward suddenly, past a Chavez jab, and clubs with his right hand to the side of the neck. 10-9 Farias 20-18 Farias
Round 3 Farias lumbers after Chavez, bowing forward under his weak pawing jabs and meandering flurries. Body shots by Farias. Chavez circles on the outside, stepping deliberately heel past heel. Very slow footwork by both. Nothing happening. Farias initiates the action with an overhand right falling in and Chavez clinches. 30-27 Farias
Round 4 Farias is becoming incredulous at all the diving in and waist-grabbing that Chavez is doing, gesticulating to the referee and shaking his head. Chavez is nobody to be shamed into altering his behavior. Same old, same old. Farias clubs him across the back and gets a few in to the body while being constantly held and dragged down as Chavez flops. FINALLY, a warning at the end of the round with the ref wagging a finger in Chavez's face as the latter tries to touch gloves with Farias jovially. Farias coolly ignores him and spins on his heel to return to his corner. 40-36 Farias
Round 5 Big body shots being traded. Chavez has decided to fight. Bad idea. Big 'n' chunky is strong, by far the stronger here. His hooks to the body physically move Chavez back involuntarily, while Chavez's ricochet off Farias' flabby midsection with no effect. Farias keeps clubbing his way forward eager to encourage these exchanges. Lunging jab by Farias connects on the nose of Chavez, which is bleeding worse than ever. 50-45 Farias
Round 6 Wild hooks by Chavez. Farias ducks and goes to the body. Right hand falling in by Farias. Chavez runs and floats out a high jab. Farias comes forward with his left arm low and right glove up to block shots by his jaw, tilting his upper body over as Chavez flurries. Farias looks for one more big clubbing power shot but runs out of time. 10-9 Farias 60-54 Farias
