Yeah, it was a toss-up in terms of attractiveness between the two.

I'd actually rather watch either of these over the Sanchez vs. Leyva mismatch on Solo Boxeo later (which doesn't conflict with anything :nut)

    Round 1

Castellano steps in, jabs, jogs left. Ortiz tries a 1-2 to the body, blocked. Castellano pushes him out with a hammer drop of his left forearm. Jabs by Castellano from outside, reaching in toward Ortiz's chin. Heavy 1-2's to the body by Ortiz, and clapping rights up top getting blocked. Right hand by Castellano. Ortiz waves his jab out in mid-step, inaccurate as he throws off balance. Jabs by Ortiz blocked, and Castellano backs him off with a counter right past one of Ortiz's leads. Ortiz is stunned, driven to the ropes! Castellano unloads on him but Ortiz goes fetal. The ref pulls Castellano off as he winds up sprawled on Ortiz. Castellano chases him to the opposite ropes, blasting with straight rights. A pair of hair-brushing jabs by Castellano. Wild straights by Ortiz, trying to make a drag-out brawl out of it. Castellano shies back, jabbing. Ortiz presses in with a spray of punches, blocked but forcing Castellano across the entire ring. Castellano slows, jabs and steps to the side. Hard shots from Ortiz, recklessly lunging in and tossing bombs. Castellano unable to keep him off with the jab. Ortiz indiscriminately letting go with either hand, all head shots. Castellano paws his jab and keeps his arms folded up in front of himself. Right to the neck by Ortiz.

10-9 Castellano, but Ortiz came on strong late.

    Round 2

Jabs to the body by Ortiz. Castellano tries to push out with the jab and then slap Ortiz back with a hook, but Ortiz is crouching inside, giving him no quarter, tossing overhands. Castellano skips back. Ortiz jabs high and hard. Castellano tries to squeeze Ortiz's head between his wrists and hold him still. Ortiz is tossing big overhand rights, hurting Castellano and forcing him to clinch. Another whipping right across the back and head. Castellanos DOWN immediately, facing the canvas!! He beats the count, but looks shaky! Ortiz rushes in, gets his arms grabbed and twisted in, wrenches free, and bashes Castellano away with big hooks! Down again, flying into the corner and landing on the seat of his trunks! Over!

    KO2!!

Roberto Ortiz vs. Joan Guzman next, for the WBC silver title? :think It's a favorable situation for both. Massa Ortiz finally gets a payday against a name opponent after several years of toiling on the Mexican domestic circuit as a crowd pleaser on a developmental plateau. Guzman gets to try and snatch up a minor belt and a chance to stick himself in the gears of the ranking machine, since he's currently on the outside looking in fighting 10-rounders. It's an easy sell with both having comparable recent performances with early KO's against a common opponent in Castellano.

Any struggles on Guzman's part making 135 would only smooth out the playing field and improve parity, handicapping his edge in talent. :yep Having it in Mexico would help too.

Also on the card, fringe contender Wilbert Uicab boxed to a twelve round decision over 7-4-2 Edwin Diaz.

Shockingly, some vacant WBC junk was on the line so this could propel him into a chance to regain his Silver flyweight title from Edgar Sosa.

    Direct comparison, if you like:

I'd prohibitively pick Guzman by KO, but don't rule out Ortiz getting lucky with his power detonating on a drained Guzman..
