It takes TWO, Hatton made an OFFER and while I personally see them giving up a little more $$$ than 10, its not totally unreasonable.
I refuse to criticize Hatton and listen to PBF Bull**** when they state no terms and talk ****.

Bottomline?? Hatton is likely the biggest payday for PBF and negoitiations are a two-way street.Right now?? We're on a 1 way(Hattons offer) trying to get there.

    Here are a few articles:

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/4601680.stm
    Insert:

Hatton's camp recently stated they would like two tune-up fights in America before facing Mayweather, so any match is likely to take place in the winter.

    http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,4-1976438,00.html
    Insert:

“We turned down two offers to face Mayweather last year,” Hatton said. “I think the offers would be more realistic now. But we would like Richard to have two or so fights in America before we look at Mayweather.”

    http://secondsout.com/UK/news.cfm?ccs=228&cs=18347
    Insert:

After Judah v Mayweather turned to dust, the feeling in the industry was that American cable giant HBO would immediately shift their focus on making Mayweather v Hatton sooner rather than later. However, the Manchester Hitman's manager and father, Ray Hatton, told SecondsOut Monday (January 9) that his WBA/IBF junior welterweight champion son will not be rushed into a fight with the 'Pretty Boy'.

And I dont know why everyone talks about Mayweather wanting money when ever fighter does this.
    http://www.britishboxing.net/news_1492-Hatton-will-challenge-trilogy-winner.html
    Insert:

Adding to the array of choices already being considered, the Hattons are still hoping to get pound for pound king and fellow welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather into the ring. "I think the Mayweather fight is going to happen at some point," said Ray. "But Ricky and Billy are going to have to decide when the time is right or when the money is right, looking at it realistically. If someone comes up with obscene money to make it sooner rather than later, then it will be sooner."

so ricky hatton's a coward eh? i suppose castillo quit as well eh? as it looks as though any mayweather fight if it happens will be at the earliest at the end of the year, what's wrong with a keep busy fight?the way he balloons it's obviously a good idea to keep him busy.just put aside your hate if you can and stop looking for things that are not there.cowards, quitters, duckers the buzzwords of the imbeciles of the main board.

:hi: Welcome to July 2007!!! All that **** is from early 06 before the Collazo fight:good

Again, the truned two offers down came beteween June and November 2005 under Warren, just like Arum/PBF/Marg, so its pointless. Hatton's team wasnt going to be rushed because they had an HBO deal brewing, designed to build PBF vs Hatton in th states. Which has made this fight worth more for everyone.

Gee two tune-ups's??  ALREADY ****ING HAPPENED under the 3 fight HBO deal, Collazo, Urango and Castillo.

WOW!! Thanks for totally irrelevant and old info that's been posted, discussed, and dissected about 100 times prior!!What matters IS RIGHT NOW and when you post articles that show what Floyd's most recent "offer" is, then you'll have a PLACE TO START!!:good

Hatton has offered PBF 10 mil to fight in the UK, PBF recently indicated(during an audio interview/seperate thread) that he may be willing to go to the UK and THE WORLD AWAITS A COUNTER-OFFER or FLOYD"S PRICE for this fight.

The point is that as in the past, Hatton and his team are blowing smoke. Hatton did not accept PBF's offers, but now you suggest PBF jump at what Hatton is offering. Well, I think that PBF and his team have learned from the past. Hatton, as before, is saying he wants to fight PBF, but will he fight him next? Probably not. Hatton will fight a "tune-up" with who? As the challenger, the smaller PPV fighter, and the one who's doing the instigating Hatton should wait until PBF's team makes him an offer and jump at it. If he doesn't he proves that he is not hungering after this fight the way he says he is.

As like in the past when floyd turned down Margarito twice?? Remember Floyd buying out his contract to be a FREE AGENT?? Same principle applies to Hatton under Warren. IT DOESNT EQUAL HATTON BEING SCARED OF OR RUNNING FROM FLOYD:good

All of your bull**** is just that!! Hatton has made a 10 mil offer to floyd, notice how Floyd keeps his terms SECRET?? Wonder why?? Basically?? Your 'point' is null and VOID!!

PBF needs Hatton, Cotto, SSM, and the Marg vs Williams winner to IMPROVE his legacy and Hatton represents ONE of IF NOT the largest payday. This so called "tune-up", a one line snippet?? Let Floyd respond to the offer or counter-offer, as it makes NO DIFFERENCE on whether or not they fight.

I'm sorry that Margarito's not fighting PBF is an albertross around your neck. However, I am talking about the Hatton PBF fight.

Again, Hatton is talking as if he wants the fight, instigating things as any challenger who NEEDS a bigger name more accomplished fighter should to get the bigger fighter's attention. Now that he has PBF's attention, he should go on and accept whatever bone PBF throws him. He's not in a position to offer anything except his services as a worhty challenger. You guys that overestimate Hatton's ability to sell PPVs, the real measure of a fighter's drawing power, will be as disapointed as the Cotto fans that overestemated his drawing power when he only did 220,000PPV buys with Judah. If Hatton doesn't fight PBF next one of two things will happen:

    1. Hatton's next fight won't even be on PPV.

    or...

    2. He'll be on a PPV that does less than 250,000PPV buys. Though he'll have 5000 idiots spend two months salary to follow him from England to Las Vegas, this is not what makes money.

If he fights PBF the fight will do about 650,000PPVs and he'll go home a richer better known fighter, even though he got humiliated buy a better boxer.

The fact is, all Hatton did was beat an old 37 year old boxer. That's his sole achievement. Castillo was shot, and every other opponent he faced had no ability whatsoever.

That would be stupid: Hatton has, time and time again, proven that he has no guts. It's unnecessary to hate something that isn't there, although tell that to Richard Dawkins.

I dont have a problem with any fighter taking a tune-up fight if they arent ready. If you not ready your not ready. But the issue here is the timing of Hatton wanting to take a tune-up fight. Hatton has been wanting this fight for quite sometime now, you go on national telivision and call out the p4p king. Floyd gives him his shot now, and now he wants a tune-up 1st. When Floyd fought his tune-ups he wasnt calling anyone out, he just did it 2 get accustum to the weight. And he went on and got the belt he wanted. Hatton is calling out a fighter, the fighter responds and now you wanna have a tune-up fight. PLease who is he fooling. He was calling out Mayweather to build his name up, he thought Mayweather was going to shrug that off, as he does for other fighters. But FLoyd actually listened, and now HAtton bitchin up. If Hatton doesnt fight FLoyd, this will prolly prove to a lot of people that he is OVERRATED. And scared to face big competition. Personally i dont think he has proven himself. His 2 biggest fights were against a way past prime fighter (Kosta) and a shot Jose Luis Castillo. Heres his chance to prove people wrong. If he doesnt take this fight. He will look like a fraud in my eyes, and in many others eyes as well.
