And this post, good Sir, is one of the many reasons you STAND OUT with your posts as P4P as far as ESB posters go.:deal

Correct, Sir. Pavlik took this as a voluntary fight on relatively short notice. Pav has documented illness/injuries, but would not call the fight out of respect for his hometown peeps that traveled so far to see him. (a mistake yes, but still) He lost, but anybody saying that didn't take BALLS for a vol. fight, is nutty as squirrel ****.

This all goes without saying, not only was Mr. Hopkins now settled into LHW, but he is unarguably an ATG and also arguably the best fighter of his generation, who had his self proclaimed "Best performance" of his illustrious got damned career.

Super Joe got an SD at 100%, nobody should dare take on a fighter of Mr. Hopkins without being 100%, and unfortunately Kelly foolishly did.

    ** OFF TOPIC **

Boo, so terribly sorry to hear about Alexis' untimely passing. I know how much he meant to you as a fighter, and I feel for you, bro.

The thread starter directed this thread at me. Yesterday we had a "3 biggest idiots on ESB" thread. I was the first to mention him, and then about 12 other people chimed in and agreed with me. He's clearly still pissed about that. The guy goes off on me all the time. He's on my ignore list, but I see it when others respond to him. I don't think he knows what an ignore list is.

I felt aweful, but thought of you first upon hearing the news. Not a fighter (well with gloves in a ring:D), but I cried as if I'd lost a close family member when Johnny Cash passed away....several of the circumstances leading up made it worse.

You are a GREAT fan of the great Alexis Arguello.:yep:good

At my door the leaves are falling
A cold wild wind Will come
    Sweethearts walk by together
    And I still miss someone

I go out on a party
And look for a little fun
But I find a darkened corner
    'Cause I still miss someone

Oh, no I never got over those blues eyes
    I see them every where
I miss those arms that held me
When all the love was there

    I wonder if she's sorry
    For leavin' what we'd begun
    There's someone for me somewhere
    And I still miss someone

Oh, no I never got over those blues eyes
    I see them every where
I miss those arms that held me
When all the love was there

    I wonder if she's sorry
    For leavin' what we'd begun
    There's someone for me somewhere
    And I still miss someone

    and i still miss someone

Johnny Cash was THE MAN :deal

Now you're bringing old tears I thought I was over back to me. His last album, was to any body that knew him the last "words" of a dying man, and that album breaks my heart to pieces.

There'll be a golden ladder hanging down..
    When the man comes around.

And to top it off, the cover of "Hurt" by Nine Inch Nails originally, still makes me weep like a child and be lucky if I don't break a few items in my house as it tears me to pieces. I literally punched the mirror off the windshield of my Z-71 Silverado, pulled over and started throwing **** into the middle of a very busy high way that rolls thru Huntington. If you have ever seen the video to "Hurt" it will break a strong man down with power.

Cherry on the cake is the fore word in the cover, he lays his heart out for Rose, and only prays he could pass before he'd have to endure losing her, and of course for the "man in black" it didn't turn out that way. So ****in' sad!

But "The whirl wind is in the thorn tree".

    This is my favorite

Early one mornin' while makin' the rounds
I took a shot of cocaine and I shot my woman down
I went right home and I went to bed
I stuck that lovin' 44 beneath my head

Got up next mornin' and I grabbed that gun
took a shot of cocaine and away I run
Made a good run but I run too slow
they overtook me down in Juarez Mexico

Late in the hot joints takin' the pills
in walked the sheriff from Jericho Hill
He said Willy Lee your name is not Jack Brown
You're the dirty hack that shot your woman down

Said yes oh yes my name is Willy Lee
if you've got the warrant just aread it to me
Shot her down because she was a *****
I thought I was her daddy but she had five more

When I was arrested I was dressed in black
They put me on a train and they took me back
Had no friend for to go my bail
they slapped my dried up carcass in that country jail

Early next mornin' bout a half past nine
I spied the sheriff coming down the line
Talked and he coughed as he cleared his throat
He said come on you dirty heck into that district court

Into the courtroom my trial began
where I was handled by twelve honest men
Just before the jury started out
I saw the little judge commence to look about

In about five minutes in walked the man
holding the verdict in his right hand
The verdict read in the first degree
I hollered Lordy Lordy have a mercy on me

The judge he smiled as he picked up his pen
99 years in the Folsom pen
    99 years underneath that ground
I can't forget the day I shot that bad ***** down

Come on you've gotta listen unto me
    lay off that whiskey
    and let that cocaine be

Big River is another of my faves.
