    Round 3

Tunacao puts out a hard right jab by itself, then follows the next one with a straight left and right hook, missing as Yamanaka turns with lightning reflexes. Yamanaka sticks the right jab up in Tunacao's face and drops a left into his stomach. Tunacao stays in front of him throwing hard 1-2s. Yamanaka backs up and catches them on his arms. BIG clubbing left by Tunacao, landing behind Yamanaka's neck as he ducks. Yamanaka sets up with the check jab, turning and facing Tunacao. Yamanaka misses a jab over Tunacao's head as he dives in, then pushes down to inadvertently force him to kneel. No KD. The ref warns him not to apply weight on the back of Tunacao's head. Yamanaka ducks a big slicing left and drops 1-2 to the belly. He circles out a bit and lines up another big straight left to the navel. Tunacao down HEAVILY. Bravely rises, catching his breath. Tunacao immediately dives in and encircles Yamanaka's waist in both arms. Big straight flurry by Yamanaka. Tunacao floored again!! Lucky to make it through, literally saved by the bell!!

    10-7 Yamanaka

    29-26 Yamanaka

    Round 5

Tunacao is running toward Yamanaka putting out the right jab and eating hard thudding hooks across the face. Straight flurries by Tunacao, up on his toes as he unrelentingly sacrifices himself to get close and lay his fists on the champion. Tunacao down before the bell, ruled a slip.

    10-9 Yamanaka

    49-44 Yamanaka

    Round 6

Right hooks to the body by Tunacao coming forward. Blistering combos by Yamanaka thrown in counter as he shimmies out, turns at the waist and takes low dips with his knees for defensive buoyancy and extra leverage on his shots. Tunacao keeps jumping in with high right jabs and getting slapped with counter hooks on the eye. Tunacao down again. No knockdown ruled. It was a push/punch. Tunacao is crouching and jumping up with right hooks and then chopping down with his left. Yamanaka slips them and drops a short 1-2 into his forehead.

    10-9 Yamanaka

    59-53 Yamanaka

He started well. He is trying to rumble with Yamanaka, who is stronger and has more fluid movement.

    Round 7

Yamanaka loses his gum shield. The ref walks him to a neutral corner holding a gloved thumb, as though Yamanaka was a little kid and he were the crossing guard that found him in the middle of the street. (remember, these are bantamweights and the ref is a normal sized person). Time in. More rapid tactical adjustments as they brawl. Tunacao jumps in behind his steeply inclined right jab and tries flurrying into Yamanaka's chest and up to his mouth. Yamanaka uses a varied defense on the backfoot, deflecting shots on his forearms, using head movement, ducking, leaning, all while countering effectively with 1-2s to the body and straight lefts to the face. REALLY sharp work with the left hand by the champion. Tunacao stays in front of him, matching his quickness of foot if not hand. Neither man seems tired, shockingly.

    10-9 Yamanaka

    69-62 Yamanaka

    What is this?

If nothing happened how come the Japanese fighter won the round?

    On the undercard:

Akira Yaegashi leapfrogged from straw to fly to dethrone WBC champion Toshiyuki Igarashi in a bloody war, taking a unanimous decision after scoring multiple knockdowns and forcing his sort of melee although he absorbed plenty of damage himself.

Earlier, former Japanese super featherweight champion Takashi Miura fulfilled his promise to knock out Gamaliel Diaz and seize his WBC belt. Miura knocked him down four times, backing up his bold talk from the last few weeks.

    Round 8

Tunacao is bobbing and weaving, sort of, whipping his left up high to clobber down on Yamanaka but unable to get a bead on him. Yamanaka bounces around and pokes Tunacao in the belly with his right jab.

    10-9 Yamanaka, closer

    79-71 Yamanaka
