Round 1

Tomlinson moves in with a steady left jab and leans in against Klassen's high guard to thump in some uppercuts to the sides. Klassen for his part waits for the breaks and then pivots out while spearing up-jabs, measuring range and tying up when Tomlinson trots in close. Klassen dances sidelong into a 1-2 and gets dropped. Flash knockdown, twenty seconds remaining. Klassen stays defensive.

Round 2

Tomlinson advances behind the jab and forces Klassen to reverse into the nooks. Cornered, Klassen explodes with a surge up off his heels throwing wide uppercuts. Tomlinson responds in kind and shoves him back against the ropes to cut short his escape and keep a bead fixed on him with the jab, not allowing him to get much distance. Klassen is ducking and grabbing with increasing urgency as his options become limited.

In the 1st Malcolm didn't show much except for the jab IMO...and while he did get in some uppercut/sideswipe flurries in the 2nd they weren't enough to offset the balance of Tomlinson's work, and Will seemed the ring general. :conf

As for the KD, replay angles would've perhaps helped make it clearer.

 

Round 3

Tomlinson is shoving into Klassen's chest with his left palm and then slapping up with hooks as he grinds in. Tomlinson is keeping his guard loosely assembled, carrying his left occasionally low to get leverage on hooks up top. Klassen is countering on the back foot with his own hooks. Tomlinson is cut badly on the left eye. Klassen scores with roundhouse lefts and rights high and low while backing up as Tomlinson just tucks his chin and bears in. Nice crack by Tomlinson before the bell, whipping up a left into Klassen's cheek.

Round 4

Tomlinson is trading jabs with Klassen at long range, which seems to favor the challenger darting in and out. Tomlinson remains stationary and whirls to keep up. Wild right hand launched up and over from the hip by Tomlinson, falling well short. Klassen gets in close and chops a right hand across the left side of Tomlinson's face, below the cut. Tomlinson muscles him against the ropes, flurrying as Klassen covers up. Lots of low ducking by Klassen, buying time as Tomlinson wastes movement slashing in at him. Klassen springs up into clinches, materializing in front of Tomlinson. Double hook slapped in by Klassen while turning Tomlinson, bouncing on his toes laterally. Clinch. Break. The ref warns Klassen for holding Tomlinson by the nape of the neck. Another clinch. Tomlinson fires a lazy jab coming up short and Klassen puts in a straight right hand lead past it, catching Tomlinson on the nose. They exchange hooks on the inside. Klassen eats one and covers up, backing up to the ropes. Tomlinson pushes in on him. Clinch. Another warning to Klassen for holding the head.

10-9 Klassen, showed some real cleverness using Tomlinson's momentum against him at points, evading and countering nicely.

You may well be right. There was a 1-2 thrown, but Tomlinson not to be positioned for it to have produced that effect. The cross probably just brushed the tip of Klassen's gloves, as you say.

 

Round 5

Tomlinson is chasing Klassen and hitting the body with single uppercuts, twisting into them and throwing in no discernible pattern. Klassen is looking bothered, scrambling to get outside and clear of Tomlinson's reach. Tomlinson keeps pressuring and catching Klassen under the ribcage with either hand. Klassen finally stops to make a stand at the ten second clap, slapping inward in rapid succession with both hands. Tomlinson covers and waits for a turn at more body shots, getting his forehead grazed.
