John landed more punches on JMM so I'm sure you can find them. Or you could watch the fight and see that John won a close fight. And if you can't admit that it was close, than I would question ones judgement.

It was indeed close, but I thought Marquez deserved it.


However, anyone who watches that fight and then calls Chris John boring needs better drugs.

 

In my eyes Chris John never fulfilled his potential. Instead of building on his win over Marquez he sat on the title and cherry picked his title defences anyone who calls him a future atg needs there head read period! Did he have the potential to be an atg maybe but one win over future hall of famer Marquez doesn't do it for me and I'm a fan who has followed his career since 2002

How can a true boxing fan view John as a boring fighter?? smh

Is it ok to labe Hopkins as a boring fighter? yes.. Can Andre Ward be regarded as a boring fighter to some? yes.. Is Chris John boring? Not at all..

Anybody who is a fan of pure boxing should absolutely adore Chris John..

 

Guilty, but I think if he had more exposure and a commetary team on the mics clamering about his 8 year title reign and undefeated record that he'd be regarded as a "great' right now by the mainstream fan.
People don't like to admit it, but getting the media on a boxer's side and talking him up is what sometimes builds legends.

 

When he rematched the draws, he won convincingly. As stated before JMM didn't seem in any hurry to rematch him, so before you try to convince anyone here that JMM won vs John, maybe you need to convince JMM first.

John's a solid fighter. Thought JMM beat him clearly enough but the fight was competitive. Just wish he'd stop hiding over there and mix it up with the rest of his weight class.

 

As much as I don't like John, I had him up by about a round or 2 in the JMM fight

 

Beat prime ATG JMM in a fight that Marquez supporters try to sweep under the rug.
But it's not going away.

 

John is a fraud whose best win is a gift decission over Marquez
