He fought 85 bums and 2 great fighters on that 87-0 streak. I did a thread about it. I will bump it for you so you can stop being obsessive over Floyd and learn a little about Chavez.

What about Yori Boy Campas right after him? 56-0. #57 Felix Trinidad TKOs him in 4. I haven't heard any controversy about that record. Also, Nino Benvenuti went 65-0 before he lost a split decision to Kim Ki-Soo. Several other guys have done this, most notably Jimmy Wilde who went something like 102-0 before being beaten.

The record is actually just the HW record, and the retirement (minor) record.
The unbeaten run record is much higher as what Floyd came up with

Julio Cesar Chavez's 86-0 before his draw with Whitaker, is a legit record and it consists with around 25 title defences.

Mayweather is 49-0 with around 27 title defences, but Chavez has a bigger winning streak, and fought very often.
Chavez was 43-0 before his first title fight. Mayweather was 18-0 before his first title fight.
That means before the draw with Whitaker, Chavez earned another 46 consecutive wins, whereas with Mayweather he earned 31 consecutive wins.

Another thing is, how legit are these records if there are so many bogus ways to break them and if boxers like Floyd can completely decide the venue, the referee, the judges, the drug testing org and even his opponents?

Cuenca could have beaten the "record" if he just fought 2 undeserving guys instead of Troyan and then retired with 50-0. Which of course he never would have, but he could have.

Can you imagine an undefeated 100m runner that has every championship at his own home track, against only opponents he choses to race against and decides what shoes they wear. With his own starter and his own 3 judges who can decide who actually crossed the finishline first based on their "eyetest"? :blood
This sounds really weird, but that's boxing anno 2016

Mayweather's record isn't BIG because he's 49-0 only idiots think that, dude is one of 6/7 5 division champs in history, tied for most Lineal titles in history, has beaten the most champs ever, all while being unbeaten for 20 yrs.

That isn't the same as Chavez beating up cab drivers, or guys like Cuenca
