Be cool if there was a full version floating around to ever get uploaded someday. I've read that Rubbers was unlucky to not get the nod - but the spoils there, of course, had been a date with Ali ...making the point rather moot. Both combatants actually fought Ali later within that same year of '73, each losing a UD.

Bugner may have gotten a questionable decision over Lubbers (in the UK, strangely enough, given that he was quite disliked there for his bitter rivalry with Cooper having lifted very EBU belt on the line here from "Our 'Enry" via unpopular referee judgment and ruining his chance to ride triumphantly off into the sunset) but he unquestionably did better against the Great One. He was so competitive that he dropped from an 8/1 to a mere 3/1 underdog by their rematch...whereas the Dutchman probably didn't shade a round.

I liked Joe Bugner. His fights with Ali and Frazier were entertaining. I make him a live dog against Fury, Wilder, and Joshua.

Bugner was a solid fighter in his heyday. He would be very competitive in todays HW division.
