Kubrat Pulev vs. Joey Abell, 10 rounds @ heavyweight

 

Round 1

Pulev is waving his left jab in the air while circling right, looking to fire the right hand down the pipe on the southpaw. Abell waits on the outside and hops in place, checking Pulev's jab with a downward swat of his right glove and lunging in with the left. Pulev hops easily out of range and keeps circling.

Round 2

Pulev is controlling range and out-jabbing Abell. The feed cuts out near the end of the round, but unless Abell pulled out a knockdown in the waning seconds it was another clearly (though like the first uneventful) for Pulev.

Some highlights just showed Abell seemingly getting dropped by a straight left body shot late in round three. (knocked into the ropes and held up by them; unclear whether a count was given)

 

Pulev TKO4 Abell

Dominated from start to finish (except for one leaping hook off-balance flash knockdown he suffered himself in the fourth where he dropped Abell 3x), steadily broke him down with body punching.

 

Was it TKO4 or TKO5, officially? Had the bell sounded yet?

 

Yes and yes.

I mean, kind of and kind of.

He probably won't ever be p4p #1 and this probably won't be FOTY, but relatively - yes and yes.
