I think Lionell Thompson was Kovalev's opponent the first time I saw him fight.

    FECK

Just made a thread for this!

    Anyway Mansour is my boy

Anyone who has ever had the pleasure of dealing with him on any level knows what a great man he is and hopefully tonight he can put on a sensational performance and set up a fight down the line against Glazkov on NBC which could lead to the big guys like HBO/SHOWTIME calling.

    COME ON AMIR.

    Round 1

Sharp right jabs by Coyne walking forward. Left on the body. Thompson circles to his right and puts in a crochet left jab, standing up stiffly. Coyne rolls his forearms around each other in front of his face and jumps in with 1-2s. Thompson lands a left hook counter and drops a 1-2 on the body.

    10-9 Thompson

    Round 2

Coyne is bouncing in place on the outside and doubling the right jab into Thompson's face. Left up-jabs from a low sling tight against his chest by Thompson. Flush right cross by Thompson circling to his right and making Coyne lunge in at him. Too much nervous energy from Coyne.

    10-9 Thompson

    20-18 Thompson

    Round 3

Coyne is leaning forward, leading with his skull as much as his right jab, putting both straight in through the front door and getting countered with straight punches from Thompson's high tight guard as Thompson bats down the right jab with both gloves. Thompson is doubling the right hand, first to the body and then the face as Coyne keeps taking long steps in with the paddle-ball right jab. Thompson crouches backward and lines up a right hand counter, waiting for Coyne. Wary, Coyne reins up short and Thompson leaves him alone. They stare at each other in the last few seconds.

    10-9 Thompson

    30-27 Thompson

Thompson through three has out-landed Coyne by more than double - 75 to 30.

    Round 4

Coyne is following after Thompson with his forearms pillared over his face and dropping the right jab in mid-step. Thompson lowers and twists his upper body to make Coyne's jab miss and roll off his back, then counters with sharp right hands from outside while turning Coyne. Flush right jab by Coyne sends some sweat flying off Thompson's head and turns his face up to the ceiling for a moment, but Thompson's neck snaps back into place and he keeps circling and jabbing.

    10-9 Thompson

    40-36 Thompson

I agree Price is crap but i know from personal experience that most Heavyweights don't want to fight Amir even if you offer them career high paydays.

Hopefully Amir can score a spectacular KO and get NBC interested in matching him with someone like Glazkov next, that would be a perfect fight for both and do good viewing numbers too.

Coyne's head coach Jose Ponce is going to perhaps yank him if he doesn't show them something in a hurry, per Chris Mannix.

As overrated as Clevery is/was he would have manhandled Coyne.
