I think it's a shame to see this. Think of all the great fights this year, I can't say I watched them all but I thought Evans vs Machida was awesome. We've seen Lesnar rise to what could be a very good Heavyweight Champion. Just sooo many great fights and then Kimbo steals the ratings?!

Disappointing but can you blame Dana White for getting him in on that card?? I suppose everyone knew it would happen so it's great for the UFC's bank balance. But one thing I hadn't thought of was what Sugarngold said, this has brought new people to the sport which can only be a good thing.

I only used to watch UFC repeats late at night on Bravo for the freak show aspect, but eventually you learn to appreciate the actual sport. So if I was converted from fan of violence to fan of MMA, then I suppose a lot more can too!

I agree with you on the bigger picture part. However im very disturbed when I look around these threads and people have no problem with a guy like Kimbo who has little talent and didnt really earn his spot get big fights and multiple chances on the big stage. However 4 MMA pioneers and former Champions Tito Ortiz vs Chuck Liddell and Randy Couture vs Mark Coleman those fights are being made for the UFC for the same reason as getting Kimbo fights but everyone bashes them ? I have no issue with Kimbo Slice as a man and respect him for getting in there and fighting by why does he get to have TUF built around him ? I would like to live in a world where we get far based on our talent not our image. Kimbo has that ghetto style imagine that things like MTV push on our youth and tell us is the way to be. I suppose I live in a fantasy world however. That said ill keep coming in here every day supporting fights like Renzo vs Hughes and Coleman vs Couture etc and continue to show my disgust with Kimbo getting big fights and made excuses for by Dana White for his losses.

What pisses me off most is Kimbo's fights on CBS drew more then Fedor's vs Rogers on CBS last month. The majority of the people would rather see a guy with no talent rather then the greatest fighter of all time.

Definitely. In the UK we didn't even get live coverage of Fedor vs Rogers. We had to wait for a couple days after when Bravo showed a repeat.

That just makes me sick right there :-( Maybe Dana will make up for that and bring Kimbo to main event the next UFC card in the UK :barf

Like many have said...the American fight fan just knows the name KIMBO..dosn't know he isn't a good MMA fighter..or care...ESPN has put KIMBO all over the place...UFC is pushing him more then true young talent...and they are going to ride their cash cow as long as they can. Hell, why is a main event with Tito vs Chuck? Why have Colman vs Randy? Because the fans are suckers and just see names..not what they have left.
