I was going to throw Arguello's name in the hat myself. Not sure I'd make him number one, but his ability to unleash hell on an opponent with accuracy, power, and punch variety was amazing.

 

Great opening post McGrain, you've posted that Robinson-LaMotta video before, its from a different angle than usual. You really appreciate Robinson's skills more from this video, also how hard his shots look, and how great LaMotta's chin was,

 

Duran's power is overrated a little at lightweight. He wasn't a one punch knockout artist when he fought credible world title challengers. He usually brutally dispatched of opponents down the stretch during his title defenses when fatigue and accumulation took it's toll. Considering Duran was an aggressive and busy fighter at lightweight who found the target often this further enhances my claim he was a 'very good' puncher and not 'great'.
