5 Major Reasons Manny Pacquiao Can Beat Floyd Mayweather

I agree with you. I'd still back Pac because I still think his style would force Floyd into fighting so negatively that Pacquiao would dominate most of the fight, but I also am not quite as confident as I would have been in early 2010.

However, if Manny fights against Marquez the way he fought against Margarito, we will know the Mosley fight was just an aberration due to Shane's disgusting tactics and the effects of the leg cramps.

Pac doesn't have the intelligence or accuracy to seriously hurt or KO Floyd. I think he has the work rate to win a highly disputed decision ala Sweet Pea/DLH

Yeah I have the same feeling that if the fight happened in November 2010, we would have seen Pac and May at their best, and the gap between the two would have been at its closest.

Now, there's a good chance that one fighter may decline quicker than the other. My bet is on that fighter being Pacquiao. His fight against JMM is going to take a lot out of him.

When Pacquiaos opponent is moving or using footwork, Pacquiao struggles to put combinations together and he reaches leaving himself open.

The only way Pacquiao beats Mayweather is to charge in in different angles, so Floyd's defense or footwork isnt it the right position to move.

Its not won by speed, punching power, its won by footwork and movement.

I know you're not talking about on this site, because we've argued this all the time. Really the FLoyd fans are the ones known for actually discussing why they think Floyd will win and talk about what will happen in the ring from a technical standpoint.
Only a few pacquiao fans do that. You being one of them

I don't believe the Marquez fight will take much out of Manny, I expect Manny to dominate.

However, I do believe Pac will decline earlier than Floyd. Pac's skill is all founded on his movement, it's his footwork that allows him to be the greatest offensive fighter of his age, which allows him to attack at angles and get in n get out, and burn his opponents.

This high-octane style is obviously harder to sustain than a defensive stylist like Mayweather, whose technique and reflexes are not so reliant on stamina.

I also fully believe that Mayweather thinks this too, and is one of the key reasons why he created the drug test bull**** to hide behind as he waits for Manny to physically deplete, much like many people say Sugar Ray Leonard 'waited out' the peak of Marvin Hagler.

Floyd is a calculating career-strategist and a deceitful liar, we all know this.

Excuses are already coming and the fight hasn't even been signed.

How come Mayweather hasn't backed off of this demand if this is the case? If Manny agrees, how come he didn't do so two years ago? That would be ironic that Mayweather was supposedly just waiting for the younger guy to get old while Pacquaio waited unttil he supposedly got old to agree to the tests in order to fight the older Mayweather.

The funny thing is, two years ago when it looked like the fight was a done deal, people where saying Mayweather was only fighting Pac because Pac was too small for WW. In just about every fight, someone's going to have a complaint.

I'm not familiar with this site enough yet to determine if you're a troll (I think you might be) but I will give it a stab.

I think Floyd can win because I think he will counter the hell out of Pac. Once you repeatedly get countered, it makes fighters very tentative. Pac became tentative in his first fight with Marquez once Marquez got his timing down. You can argue that Pac is a lot better now, but I also believe that Floyd is a lot better than JMM.

I think Floyd is an expert at fighting off his back foot, which will be the determing factor in this fight. Pac usually overwhelms his opponents and they end up just retreating sans Margo. I think that by Floyd being able to step back and then counter, Pac is going to be off balance all night.

I'm way beyond even arguing about this boring **** now. No-one except General Forum biased fanboy trolls still think there's even a debate about this: Floyd conjured up a roadblock to hide behind to avoid this fight. You'd need to be blind insane not to see this by now.

However, to address something else you said, Roy Jones is a vastly superior fighter to Glen Johnson, yet Jones was shot to **** by the age of 35/36, while Johnson looked as good as he ever has at 39-41. This is because all fighters decline at individual, different rates, and because some styles/attributes are affected earlier by age than others are.

What about Ali and Sweet Pea? Elite athletes early on, but became technically elite as they got older. Some guys don't have the talent to adapt. Roy adapted, but his coordination left him too quick for him to change his style over night.
