This was the first heavyweight championship fight I ever got to watch live (I'm a new fan to the sport and more interested in classic boxing) and the few people I spoke to said it would be heralded as a classic in time. I watched the two fights before it between the two and didn't think much of the third coming into it.

Does anyone think it will be viewed as a classic in years to come? Or just one of the few worthwhile fights that make up Fury's and Wilder's resumes? Do you see either fighter making a more defining performance after this fight?

Good sloppy slug fest. Wilder at his best, Fury not near his best. (That was fight 2). Not sure how great it will be remembered because Wilder while always dangerous really only had the 4th round. He didn’t have too many sustainable offensive moments in the fight.

It will go down in HW history as a historic rivalry & great trilogy.. The rose tinted brigade wont like that but it's the truth

A very entertaining way to end the trilogy.

It’ll go down as one of the greatest heavyweight trilogy’s ever. Both fights took a lot out of each fighter, I don’t think Wilder will ever fight again and Fury won’t ever be the same again.

If we look at each man’s will to win I don’t think any heavyweight fight since I’ve been alive comes close. Can you imagine AJ taking the shots that Fury took and then coming back? Or Dillian get mauled like Wilder did in the 2nd fight and coming back the way he did in the 3rd?

If we're going to be honest with our selves fury made the fight good for all the wrong reasons. if fury came in at a reasonable weight it would have been a repeat of the second fight. But forgeting that was it good? Yea simple as, highly entertaining slug-fest that I didn't regret staying up at an ungodly hour to watch.

Pointless, and prevented a possible unification, but the highlights were pretty good.

Fury almost lost the fight because she spent the majority of covid ****ing about and was only fighting at about 40%. I hope he doesn't make the same mistake going forward.

Fury's greatest night is still to come, and I don't mean Dillian friggin' Whyte (though, seeing him smack the delusion out of that clown in front of a packed Wembley is going to be sweet).

My thoughts are that it confirmed Sugar Hill is another in a long line of con-artist trainers.
Fury was supposed to be better than ever after being with his new master trainer for a lengthy period.
He got some more CTE under the belt, almost got KO'd and took even longer to get the stoppage.

Said on a different thread that the 3rd fight almost tarnished the previous 2 fights.

Before the 3rd fight Fury looked levels above Wilder.

Completely outboxes him in the 1st fight and embarrasses Wilders boxing ability. Yeah Wilder dropped Fury, but made absolutely no difference in who was the better boxer and a robbery decision to top it off.

2nd fight, Fury runs through Wilder and that should have been the end of the story. Fury clearly better and exposes Wilder as a paper champion.

3rd fight and Fury goes life and death with Wilder. Doesn't matter about the excuses of how Fury wasn't training properly, was too heavy...blah blah. Fact is he struggled with a guy he blitzed in other fights. Now Wilder looks like he deserved his belt legitimately and actually it was him that had the bad performances in the previous fights. Fury went life and death with Wilder is how the trilogy ended.

Fury looked like he'd had a poor camp. To heavy and relied on blunt force with only flashes of boxing ability.
Wilder beefed up and with a bit game plan caused problems early to Fury's rhythm but the added weight caused him to slow and gas. Then it became a shoot out and the guy who was stronger, with a better engine and more variety won the day.

It was a showing of girt and heart rather than a display of technical boxing.

It was a very entertaining fight but it wasn’t as great as a lot of people were making out when it first happened. Other than the 4th round Fury was pretty much in control the whole time. Good way to end the rivalry but won’t go down as an ATG fight in my opinion.

It was a fun scrappy battle. Fury made a meal out of what should have been an easier win than the second fight.
If we look with hindsight it was always lopsided in Fury's favour so hardly as competive as Bowe v Holyfield.
The fact is Wilder was never really that good but did show guts and Fury was unfit in two of the fights.
So hardly an elite trilogy with ebb and flow. It will be remembered as it's the only meaningfull trilogy at Heavy in this era.

I personally thought it was an instant classic, and I still maintain that it is.
