Tunney beat a couple of greats in Dempsey and Greb, and is one of five heavyweight champs to have beaten every man they stepped in with.

I always liked Sultan. He is my could-have-been pick. Fast hands, power, southpaw, boxer-puncher, Olympic silver medalist. After the Klitschko loss, he could of hung around heavy beating up on the bums and old guys polluting the division at the time, or, he could have moved down to cruiser and had some great fights there. But he just didn't want it.

Brit-centric view but I'll say Gary Mason. Slowish and shortish by modern HW standards, so by no means an ATG, but had tremendous [hard-hitting] physical strength & a hall-of-fame standard chin. A couple of tidy wins on his CV, including Tyrell Biggs. Had to retire after his only loss, a stoppage vs Lewis, who [rather cynically] targeted Mason's eye, which he'd been having a lot of trouble with [a previously detached retina], with jabs, left it a right mess. Lesser fighters have probably held and certaily fought for world titles.

No he's not. He never beat Loughran. And Dempsey was old, Greb was old and so were half of Tunney's opponents. Prime Greb beat him horrifically and was robbed in the rematch.

Patterson was 185-190 lbs of solid muscle he would never be able to cut to 168. Benavidez at 185 looks like he's made of marshmallow cream

He's not one of the fee heavyweights who beat every man he fought. He never beat Loughran.

There should be another thread about the most underrated on this boxing forum alone

I can think of a HW thats highly underrated on here and gets tons of hate.. world wide however he has more respect outside this forum

That's a point. I will slightly modify my statement to say "one of the five that has no unavenged defeats."
