5 vs 5 Card

Is anyone not too excited by the prospect of this? There aren't too many natural fights to make between the stables. Also if we're being real their best fighters won't be competing, Queensberry would feel Fury is unbeatable at heavyweight, and I think Matchroom would believe no one from Queensberry beats Opetaia, Bivol, Andy Cruz, Jesse Rodriguez and Sunny Edwards.

The only real fight I'm looking forward to is Sheeraz vs Williams - that's a fantastic fight.

Ford vs Ball - they are rushing into this fight, Ford was just in a war and clearly can't make the weight anymore.

Dubois vs Huni / Hrgovic - Dubois against Huni would be a mismatch, Hrgovic isn't signed to Matchroom so kind of defeats the point

Davis vs Masoud / Akhmadliev - Davies against Masoud is a mismatch, I don't think Akhmadliev will take part because apparently he is fighting Inoue next

Pacheco vs Parker - mismatch in favour of Pacheco

 

It just feels like it's going to be very underwhelming to be honest. We won't get any of the fights we want to see and seems like it's just a way to get their lower level guys paydays.

 

Has this been announced then? I’ve been stuck in meetings all day so have not seen anything.

 

No not yet. The weight classes were supposed to be announced as they have been agreed and the filming has been done, but the fights haven't been fully agreed yet apparently. I presume Turki will announce whenever he wants. Let's be real, he is promoting these shows and he makes all the decisions even in terms of production.

I've heard that 4/5 weights will be:
- Heavyweight
- Middleweight
- Featherweight
- Super Bantamweight

 

Not arsed about this in the slightest really. Couldn't give a monkeys about who is promoted by who and comparisons between different promoters.

I just wanna see good fights. Adding the promoter v promoter aspect just makes it a bit of a gimmick imo.

 

They should put in a stipulation that the losing promoter has their head shaved 00s WWE style

Well if the rumour is right, then Zhang and Wilder will sign one off deals with FW and EH.

We will have Dubois vs Hrgovic, Ball vs Ford, Smith vs Yarde and Ammo vs Sheeraz

 

Yarde is fighting Buatsi - that should be announced into time for the fight next weekend.

 

Ford said he was moving up after Kholmatov.
Z Parker is SMW. Maybe he'll fancy the move up.
