C'mon now, both Klitschkos especially Wladimir have plenty of money to last a couple of lifetimes. They are the top of the food chain & they can sell out stadiums in Germany even if they fought Mary Poppins. In the case of Haye they wanted to expand into the UK by KOing & humiliating their chosen hero on his own soil. This would generate huge future gates in places other than Germany.
I understand this, but Haye is a huge threat to Wlad. He's a smaller guy with great speed, and excellent power, and great skills. He WILL land on Wlad. When he does, Wlad knows he doesn't have the chin to stand up to his punishment. It would be in his best interest to do everything possible to avoid fighting Haye in order to enhance his legacy. On a side note though, it does appear that Haye is acting like a damn coward.
Well I agree with your side note but not much else. Haye might not land on Wladimir at all and if he does, I'm sure Wladimir will take it & throw back. After all, Wladimir has taken punches from bigger punchers than David Haye..................and unlike Haye, Wlad's never been KO'd by a cruiser............and an old cruiser to boot
I mean Haye has good, but not great, power. He also has speed but what great skills are you seeing that I just don't see? Is it that total disregard for defense when he leans in with his hands down at his sides? :yep
Well in a perfect world that would be nice but wouldn't it be poetic justice for Audley to land a nice haymaker on the Hayefaker? I would literally laugh my ass off...................
The following posters are delushional enough to think Haye deserves more than half against Wladimir: This content is protected , This content is protected , This content is protected TerryESB, I thought you were a reasonable poster, tell me you read the question wrong.................
haye has come out and said lots of things almost nothing he has said has been true in years as someone already posted his word means **** you are claiming the klitschko's moved the goalpost with no real example of how... I have already showed you where haye and boothe outright got what they asked for then moved the goalpost.. i would say that its pretty hard to believe haye on anything and the klitschkos especially with this last round of negfotiations made things really transparent.
I think his speed is overrated, but I do really rate his power. He probably does have great power, but his speed is just a bit better than average. His defense and his chin are ****, and if he fights Wlad now he'd get KO'd. If he fights Wlad 2-3 years down the line he might win.
What difference does it make what weight class David Haye came from? Can he not punch? Does he not have great speed? Does he not have the ability to bend at the waist and move his head? What supposedly bigger punchers have landed on Wlad where Wlad was not dropped? Corrie Sanders, the destroyer of such notable opponents like Michael Sprott? Or Sam Peter who just beaten by a low skilled cruiser a few fights ago? Wlad's entire style is predicated around protecting his chin. CLEARLY there is a problem. If you don't see this, you are blind. Now if you tell me that Haye won't be able to land on Wlad, you would have an arguement. It would be WRONG, in fact VERY WRONG, for the same reasons you say HAYE wouldn't win. IE his SIZE, and HIS SPEED, and HIS SKILLS, would be an ADVANTAGE, not a liability. And Haye also has question marks about his chin. When did Wlad get a chin? Haye is an incredibly dangerous opponent for a guy that uses his height and footwork to get away from opponents, and is afraid to commit to uppercuts early, and when he does throw them leaves himself wide open and typically misses.
how wasnt it a true 50/50 split? everything in a pot split it 50/50 thats what was offered and what they claimed they wanted only to balk when they got it.
His defense is great. What are you talking about? How many punches did Valuev land on him? 5? Any clean ones? Nope. What about Ruiz, how many clean punches did he land? Just because he doesn't stick his hands up in the air like Chambers and Chagaev and sit right in front of Wlad on the outside and absorb punches, doesn't mean he doesn't have good defense. I'm not saying he's James Toney, but he's also a different fighter than James Toney because he relies heavily on lateral mobility. He's one of the most mobile heavies we've seen in years, especially given the fact that he has KO power in both hands.
