Stylistically Louis hadn't degenerated as much as Ali had. Louis, a stand up boxer puncher, a stalker, still in command of his left jab which he hooked off of, straight right, and still able to punch with power. Which were his hallmarks. Although his reflexes had eroded and he had lost some quickness, he wasn't as shot as its been told. Ali, a stylist who threw pinpoint punches in bunches relied upon quick hands and feet, reflexes and timing to carry him threw his fights. His skills had eroded considerably after the Thrilla in Manilla with his last decent fight being his 3rd go with Norton. After that he relied upon guile for the most part and his immense will and strength to carry him through. I would be inclined to pick louis in this match. Because he had lost less than Ali had.
