I'd like to see contracts with the steps 1. Boxer Paid Guarantee 2. Promoter takes money spent on the event 3. Split between promoter and boxer heavily in the boxers favour.

    Unfortunately this will never happen.

It be nice to get those provisions put in all contracts ..But that's the problem the promoters have their own guide lines ,that's why there needs to be less promoters .

This is why its important for a boxing council .And I hope we get one sooner than later .

These guys think they can just come in and start making money hand over fist. In reality promoting isn't easy and I doubt they can do much unless they start signing guys who had already been developed by other promoters.

What so many people on this forum don't understand is that promoters lose money on a lot of their fighters. They invest a lot of money into fighters and usually don't get the rewards. The promoters aren't making money putting on fights in backwoods casinos in front of a few hundred people where a prospects development occurs. As with any investor that puts money in at the ground floor they are rewarded when that investment succeeds. I don't think TMT or whatever understands what it's doing so they'll go the Golden Boy route of signing fighters who they didn't develop which causes other promoters to not want to spend as much on their own fighters since they may jump ship.

if managers can also be promoters or vice versa, arum or oscar would also have a stable of fighters that they manage.

i saw an article once where it was mentioned that somebody can't be both, conflict of interest or something that's against the ali act.
