My list of ATG heavy champs as of today...

    1. Ali
    2. Holmes (I'm Sold On The Homerman.)
    3. Johnson ( He Was A Pioneer.)
    4. Louis
    5. Lewis
    6. Foreman
    7. V.K. (He's My Top Dog Today)
    8. Holy
    9. Tyson
    * Liston / Frazier (Tie)

    Note:

I'm sorry, but other greats like "Marciano, Dempsey, Wlad K., Charles, Walcott, Jeffries, Tunney, Baer, Patty & Schmeling" pretty much round out the list from #'s 11 thru 20....

Oh, I'm sure someone will whine that I left out Jack Sharkey, Bob Fitz or even Jimmy Corbett for that matter, but you can't please everyone.... Hell, I'm serious, I'd even have the balls to rank a well tuned 1983 to 1986 Timmy Spoon somewhere around # 19 or 20 on a day I'm feeling good and a little tanked... I've done it before......

Patterson's handspeed, combinations, and punching power would give Ezzard a lot of trouble. Patterson could outbrawl Charles. Charles best bet is to stick and move, box, use angles, throw sharp flurries and try to win on points.

Resume? No.. Tuffness and Balls? Yes...:deal:bbb

I've watched this racket for 35 years and I have seen many cases in which the guy with the radical resume folds like a lawn chair when the fighter is forced to rock and roll with a mean machine who is tuff as a dollar steak and mean as a rattler, and also own odd but, effective skills in the ring....
    :hey
That is why I rate Vitali over Wladdy....:good

Tuffness and Balls? You mean the way he quit on his stool with just 3 rounds to go against light hitting chris byrd with his heavyweight championship belt and undefeated record on the line? Or the way he pulled out of a fight with Hasim Rahman 4x? Wlad is definitely tougher than Vitali, and doesn't handpick competition. Wlad fights the BEST out there. Wlad has balls.

CHarles has his own handspeed, combinations and power. He also has better defense, shorter more compact shots, better timing and ring smarts

    Dude,

You need to leave the 2000 fiasco with Byrd behind in the past now... V.K. has done plenty to make-up for that embarrassment...

As for Hasbeen Rahman, C'mon, nobody really thinks V.K. honestly ducked "The Rockman" in 2005.... V.K. was undergoing a couple surgeries and he was not prepared to fight during that season....

I, as well as other ESB posters, feel V.K.'s pro record / resume is fine and well in place...

I'm anxious to see "V.K. vs. Adamek."

I will credit Floyd Patterson for being a physically fit fighter all the time / times.... He never seemed flabby or out of shape... He was very well toned and leaned out, and I have no doubt he was naturally trained, as well...

I watched him get beatdown against Ali in '72 for review last night.... Simply put, Floyd at 188 pounds was just too small to handle the 218 pound Ali... Ali smacked him around and shut his eye bad... Floyd was game and posied enough to ask for a rubber match afterward but, thanks to Amon Ra, the rubber fight never occurred....

Holmes and Johnson over Louis? Fair? Really? Vitali in there? Really? All the rest looks reasonable but those two are just glaring mistakes, buddy.

I'll scream 'til the day I die that Holmes could handle Louis in a time machine... As for Johnson beating Louis, well, I'm not sure there, but I like Johnson's story better... Vitali Klit can kick BIG TIME ass in any era going back to 1887..... He is a "Live Dog" on the betting table.... That's all I'm saying there.....

Good fight,Mr Bill. Charles by late rounds tko. Floyd's superior speed takes him this far. Ezzard was the better all round boxer and puncher. Sturdier chin too.
