50 years from now who will be ranked higher? PBF, Mosley, ODLH, Trinidad, Vargas, May

    1. Oscar ( Especially if he wins in his last 2 fights. Will be ranked 2nd if not.)
    2. PBF ( He can be no.1 if he stops Cotto then retires Undefeated. )
    3. Trinidad
    4. Mosley
    5. Vargas

    I would actually probably put mayweather first as i think his undefeated record will be very kind to him over the years

    At any rate... there is no way mayorga should be ranked over vargas

    Mayorga -
    Best wins - Forrest, Lewis, Cruz and completely shot vargas
    Losses - Spinks ud, Trinidad KO BEATDOWN, Hoya KO BEATDOWN, non competetive fights in those two, among guys from his country that i have no clue who they are but that was early in his career

    Vargas - Youngest jr middle champ in history
    Best wins - Winky Wright, Ike quartey, Campas, Raul Marquez back when he mattered, and looking back on it, Castillejo wasnt too bad a win considering he also dropped him and this was a shot vargas, cast then moved up and stoped Sturm.

    Losses - Trinidad in fight of the year canidate and one of the best fight at 154lbs and one of titos best wins , Oscar in fight of the year canidate and one of the best fights at 154 period and one of oscars best wins. Then a SHOT vargas warred with Mosley before mosley really put the dirt on vargas coffin.... one tito put him in and oscar nailed shut.

    Then when they fight... a vargas that entered camp at 260lbs, fought like an old man, with a bulged L-5 disc and a complete shell of what he was mayorga had two knockdowns and still only won by MD. Props to mayorga... he was fighting above his best weight (and uuuh... so was vargas)

    but he was hardly a better fighter, doesnt have a better legacy (but that can change if he beats cotto) his losses are worse and his victories arent as good outside the first forrest fight.

    Vargas is without a doubt ranked higher the Mayorga

    But i love em both

    it matters on what they go on to achieve, some of them may be coming to the end of their careers but still have alot to do in the sport.

    on current achievements i would rank them:
    1)Oscar De La Hoya
    2)Felix Trinidad
    3)Floyd Mayweather
    4)Shane Mosley
    5)Fernanado Vargas

    not every fighter can pick and choose the fight they want, when leonard wanted hagler he got it because he could. floyd is in the position to pick and choose anyone he wants to fight because he has earned to be in that position, when your P4P#1 you can do as you please. if cotto got into floyd's position then he would be able to pick and choose who he wanted to fight, floyd is the face of boxing whether you like it or not, and once your in the position floyd is in you can take 9 months of and still be recognised as number 1, you have to be a great boxer to be recognised as number 1 when you not even boxing.

    in 50 years out of those few fighters mentioned.
    (besides being talked about as his opponents)

    i used to think floyd is a ducker but hes not he only wants the mega fights,all hes interested is keeping those millions stacking up in the vault floyd would fight any1 if the money involved makes him happy.

    Any one including weak me would fight even Lennox Lewis! if the money was right.

    But I see your point. PBF probably feels he's accomplished all that he wants to by having been champ in 5 weight divisions. He probably feels he is up there with SRR, SRL and ODLH and is now looking to capitalize on is P4P status to get paid big.

    50 years from now Floyd will be arguabley the best fighter ever ... he will be ranked higher than them and he's going to finish his career undefeated.

    If Floyd continues ducking Cotto, I would say ODLH. If he fights him and wins, Floyd. If he loses, Cotto will be in 50 years.
