i'll probably be dead by that time so i don't really care.

  3. Pacquiao definitely.

There have been many, many great Mexican fighters and will continue to be. Filipino greats are not nearly as common. And that's not even considering all of Pacquiao's humanitarian efforts for his countrymen.

He is a once-in-a-lifetime phenomenon. It's sad he still has a legion of haters, there's really nothing to dislike about the guy (aside from the adultery).

Pacquiao and it's not even close. There have been great Mexican fighters before and after Chavez. While there are few and a VERY few great filipino boxers.

Basketball previously was the national pasttime in the Philippines. Pacquiao has opened up more doors for millions of kids and teens looking for a sport to latch on to.

easy Pacquiao. But that is because Mexico is a bigger country so you had more fighters coming out of that country and more then would be champions just by the numbers. Chavez goes down with Cuevas and others are great champions, but Pacman stands alone.

II'll put it this way...not every Mexican or Mexican American I come across like Chavez. But EVERY Filipino or Filipino American I come across like Pacquiao.

Here's the tricky thing. Pacquiao will be remembered among Filipinos as the greatest Filipino boxer for a long time only because it is so rare. In that sense, he will be coveted more than Chavez in Mexico. But, Mexicans will always have many great boxers in the future to compare to Chavez, and in that sense, Chavez will always be remembered as the greatest. Mexicans will always be reminded who their greatest boxer is, whereas Filipinos don't have to be reminded.
