Well he did get the decision afer all according to the judges. So it's easy to find Photo shots where he landed some punches but that still doesn't prove your point. Nobody said he went the whole fight without landing anything, all we said was he didn't land enough effective punches throughout the whole fight. Infact when you watch the highlights for Calzaghe's greatest hits they have a hard time finding points in the fight where Calzaghe was landing scoring blows, that's how bad it is.
It still wouldn't prove to the critics that he could beat Hopkins in a rematch even if he did beat Dawson cause Dawson ain't Hopkins. And it sounds like your already coming up with excuses for joe by saying he's past his prime if he was to lose to Dawson.
there is really no such rule "you have to beat the champ" because if your a "champ" you should be able to beat a challenger. Your almost as dilusional as Hopkins himself...it's the same story every time he loses a decision. He whines and complains and says he won.....well he lost...end of story.
Im a calzaghe fan, but you don't get any bias from me. Check the scorecard i posted a few posts back and tell me where im wrong. Calzaghe won a very close scrappy fight. I had him two points up on first viewing, and after i watched it again with the sound turned down i had him 1 point up. I have seen this fight four times now and everytime after the first viewing its been Calzaghe by a point. Get over it man, Hopkins lost.
Sorry, and im not looking for an argument but ive seen lots of your posts about Calzaghe, and objective isnt the word that springs to mind. This was not a controversial fight outside of Hopkins house and on forums. No media outcry(lewis/holy), no immediate demand for a rematch outside of Hopkins's mouth(PBF/JLC). It was a close but clear fight, and accepted as much by everyone but a few. As far as controversial descisions go it is nowhere near PBF-JLC let alone anyother close fight. Reid-Calzaghe was far closer and harder to score.
Sorry to point out that your boyfriend reckons Joe only landed 1 and half punches a round. You probably missed it with his jiz in your eyes or something.
There was a such rule that you have to be champ and if you go thru history you would know that. Your obviously very bias but half of the people of the website are. The website says it all since this a british website.
He is slightly past his prime but it doesn't mean i would take credit away from Dawson if he was to beat him. Its going to take a very special fighter to beat Calzaghe, and if it does happen you can be sure he will get the respect he deserves, from me anyway. A prime Calzaghe for me was a Calzaghe who could punch, but was slightly less intelligent in the ring (only slightly) from what we see today. Obviously that comes with experiance.
LMAO..... WEAK. I've seen the fight - better yet; I've seen the highlight reels produced by BBC Whales and other various networks. NO PUNCHES. You found some stills of Calzaghe landing punches. PATHETIC. TRULY. Grasp away. What are you trying to say, classless piece of ****? That Calzaghe landed more punches than has been established in these debates over and over again? The Calzaghe cum drinkers run away when the subject comes up.. You've have had plenty of time to come up with answers and this is the best you've got?? What does it say in the first place that you're showing these pictures? DON'T LIE, FRAUD. You know Calzaghe landed almost virtually no punches whatsoever and you're trying to put me on.
And I've also gave Calzaghe credit for his abilities as caucsian fighter with the most speed. If he beat Hopkins, I'd be the first to admit it. Roy Jones Jr. beat Hopkins, no arguement with that fight at all. JT and Calzaghe did not beat Hopkins.
I forgot to go over your first point as i answered your post. He doesn't have to prove anything when it comes to Hopkins in a rematch because he's already beaten him. You are clinging onto something that isn't going to happen. There will not be a Hopkins rematch for a couple of reasons. 1. He's already beaten him, been there and done that. 2. Hopkins stunk the place out. 3. He cheated. 4. He showed a total lack of respect to Calzaghe in the build up, during the fight, and after the fight.
