He fought Beibi Berrocal of Colombia this morning in his 2nd WBO Oriental 168lb title defense (also billed as being an IBO 168lb 'world title' eliminator) in the main event of a show in Victoria that was streamed worldwide via GFL.tv It was reportedly a very fun and violent affair while it lasted (a little under six minutes of mayhem) spoiled by a questionable stoppage. I'm hoping some video surfaces pretty soon. Dunn is now 17-0 (15) and has maybe the prettiest looking record of all the Australian super middleweights. His level competition, however, isn't the strongest. Where do you place him against his compatriots head to head? That is, strictly those operating at domestic level. Obviously you have Sakio Bika well ahead of the pack on the world stage. Of the rest, though: Murdock, Carr, Yannick, Quinlan, McCulloch - where does Zac factor in? :think
His Boxrec page and info have been sitting in my Favorites for about 6 months, he looks good from all the Amateur footage. But very little pro footage so I've held off, but he sounds promising a SMW with 17-0 15 KO's.
Ryan Bivins (the erstwhile SweetBoxing video guy) on Twitter was saying it was a very enjoyable watch. Had I know it was going to be aired online I might have tried getting up for it - even though GFL is PPV, they're usually dirt cheap in proportion with how low-level the cards are.
Actually it was free!! http://www.gfl.tv/event/Fight/Boxing/Barry-Michaels-Sports--Friday-Night-Boxing/2782 (or at least the replay is) Damn, should have gotten up. atsch
Someone uploaded a video but made it private. http://vk.com/video147926145_171854930?list=4bfc22bf6f97d0db82
That was a brutal flurry at the end, he was throwing and landing fairly accurately with some vicious intentions
He's a good puncher and a tough slugger but has limited boxing skills and no regard for defence. The stoppage was ridiculous.
I like this match up, pretty much perfect timing.... Good step up opponent who he should be able to take care of... If he's going anywhere in the sport I expect him to have a comfortable enough UD with a few close hard rounds.... Expect it to be a little ugly but if Fletcher can take care of Bursak then Dunn should do similar as long as he uses a little defence n boxing smarts to go with that attack.... Very interesting, Marco Antonio Periban listed on the card vs TBA???? Holiday fight??? Is he helping one of the other fighters spar n scored a undercard fight??? Or some other opponent????? Cant seem to pick a local they would put him in with???? Fimd it interesting he is on a car vs TBA in this part of the world.
Zac is very proficient at dishing it out. Particularly to the body. But he needs to tighten his defence up if he wants to progress to the top.
Zac got dropped and came back to win a close SD over Derrick Findley in a supposed FOTY candidate. Somewhat troubling news for Dunn's chin there.:think
