Kabayel did get a good ranking IMO, beating makmudov and unproven Sanchez doesn't automatically make you #1 especially since his fights has been at the European level since his win over chisora who is an undisputed gatekeeper.
Oh I do think he's rated highly, but those guys he beat are nothing special at all... My point was the rankings were a joke by having those guys at 2 and 3, so why should anyone be surprised that their rankings seem hard to justify now? (I don't necessarily agree, but from the perspective of someone who does!)
You're right, save for few anomalies, I think the ranking is pretty much decent, it should become clearer by December. Good thing is that the Saudi money is getting them to fight one another now, so I really dgaf about the rankings, they will all get found out like wilder soon enough
Either Tyson Fury (former champ about to rematch the current champ, they set that precedent with Wilder) or Kabayel who beat rank #2 and #3. AJ getting #1 spot by beating one top ten opponent in 4 years is laughable.
Weren't Wallin and Ngannou both top 10 in WBC la-la land? I mean, sure, if that's enough to get AJ a bunch of rankings then Kabayel should get more... But you can't dismiss fighters as not belonging in a top ten for AJ and then say Kabayel should be higher for beating guys who have even less business being there... Not saying that's your position, mind you.
This is flawed if you think about it, Kabayel beat #2 & #3 but he never beat #1, and you actually want him to be #1. I think what's laughable here is your bias
My position is that Fury should remain #1 until proven otherwise. AJ shouldn't get to skip the line because he hasn't earned it. At least with Kabayel he's actually taking risky fights nobody else was taking.
These rankings are made by organizations who have made dubious decisions for decades. Why would they ever stop doing whatever the hell they want when there are no consequences for them? (Exceptions of course when the FBI raided the IBF and WBC with their Rochiggiani legal issues) Never expect fair and unbiased ratings from them
Kabayel was already WBC#3 when he fought WBC#2 Sanchez and defeated him in a dominant display. He previously dominated the WBC#3. Joshua also had dominant displays, but against WBC#9 and WBC#10, which apparently got him WBC#1 ranking. See the problem?
Agreed. On a related note, I must have been mistaken, but I swore I had read something somewhere that indicated Kabayel-Sanchez was a WBC final eliminator.
