I know Tommy Burns was only 5"7 as was Dwight Quawi and Tyson was about 5"10, Marciano & Frazier 5"11 and Langford about 5"9 like James Toney and Tom Sharkey but can a it happen today. At least in Italy it can.....Look at Clemente Russo own 6"6 1/2 Matteo Modugno....

Which one of the old timers styles would be able to compete Today, Sharkey,Langford,Burns?

If he could come in at super-middleweight I could see Burns fighting today. Langford, who was about 5'8", could easily compete at light-heavyweight, and Marciano would be king at cruiserweight. Tom Sharkey was too crude to handle modern boxers, but he'd be good in toughman competitions.:bbb

I think all their styles would work just as they worked in their day - I think it's more about the mental approach to fights that you take - as long as those guys went in looking to assert themselves and make it their fight - whether their fight meant taking the fight right to the big guy, or attempting to smother the big guy in close, or whether it meant they were looking to move and make it difficult for the big guy to pin them down or whatever - I think it just about your approach to a fight and how you assert it for instance when Roy Jones really a middleweight took his shot at John Ruiz for the HEAVYWEIGHT title he fought one way - going on the move and pot-shotting and living on his wits to make Ruiz miss by inches etc whereas say James Toney another super middle moonlighting as an overweight heavy actually spent the bulk of the his fight against Ruiz hustling Ruiz the heavyweight back and Ruiz gave ground to the super middleweight without much resistance - its all about asserting your mental approach whether your approach is to try and command the fight or whether its to duck around and and show how much quicker you are

How about Gerry Cooney vs George Chaplin? I'm also thinking about Vladimir vs Mormeck. How tall is Mormeck?
