Great work, and Im impressed with the poise you showed when the guy was unloading on your arms and pushing you to the ropes
Thank you, that was my 4th fight. Funny, my first 10 fights were just guys trying to come out and bomb me out.
thank you, I knew one of the judges who had a perfect side anglle and he was saying i musta scared the guy over. hahaha, i was like sheeeeeiittt, come on now!!
Great shot. You have good patience, not getting overwhelmed by all the pressure your opponent was coming at you with. Does Chicanito still train you?
I trained with chicanito on and off for 3 years. At the time he was planning on making a comeback. He was gonna fight a few tuneups and try to fight erik morales. So i just caught a ride with him up to the la boxing in east la. I learned alot from just watching him train and spar. It was a great experience. I still keep in touch with him a little bit. We both reside in mission viejo so i bump into him at albertsons or the mall where his wife and my girl work. Hes a good man. Ive been training with Jimmy Jackson for 4 years. Im about to turn pro this summer. Im preparing myself daily.
Nice work and pretty fast delivery I had to go back and watch it again:good So whats the last tournament you fought in? I used to go to LA boxing to back in around 95,96. Are you gonna turn pro at cruiser or go down to light hvy? Your trainer is he the same Jimmy Jackson that was a welter? LA boxing gym was in downtown not East LA. Not there no more im sure you probably know that. Where you training now?
Ya, jimmy was a welter. Mean machine!! He taught me how to punch with precise technique and his mit work is all about reaction and numbers. With jimmy ive really learned to relax and throw short punches on the inside. I dont bounce around anymore either. I use short steps. I tore my miniscus and am currently working with 2 pt's on stregthening the ligaments. I feel good right now but i dont wanna rush anything. Jimmy used to run the westminster boxing club. We were there for a while and now we train in my garage and go all over for sparring. I have a full ring, speedbag, heavybag, double end bag, and everything in my garage.
I think rudy hernandez is in maywood now. A bunch of japanese people bought up alot of the land where the la boxing was. btw, rudy is a world class guy.
