arum is probably following the very successful blueprint of the morales-mab trilogy when managing this current pac-jmm rivalry. after the first two very close and controversial fights in the mab-erik trilogy, arum saw it fit to wait 2 years for the 3rd and deciding fight of the trilogy. this 3rd fight turned out to be the biggest and most successful fight of the mab-erik trilogy in terms of promotion, ppv buys, gate receipts, etc. there is therefore some merit of putting "air" in between rematches.

i'm not saying though that a 3rd pac-jmm should happen 2 years from now. probably, both of them should take 2-3 bouts each before meeting again for the third and deciding fight of the trilogy. the only reason that the second fight took 4 years to happen from the first was that jmm took so long moving up to 130. if he moved up to 130 sooner then this second fight would've happened maybe a year or more sooner. but maybe this fight would've not been as big and successful as it is now.

A rubber-match is inevitable in my eyes, but only after Manny gets through David Diaz at 135. Hopefully it will happen before year's end.

I think an immediate rematch is essential, it still looms as a GREAT fight. I think DAvid Diaz has a good chance over PAC because of size and durability. Juan Diaz and Campbell blast PAC away, IMO

After a loss @135 it may lower the purse bid for a rubbermatch. Also, if PAC dismisses an immediate rematch with JMM for substantially less $$$, then I have to concede with the claim, PAC is _____________.
