I just hope that it brings everyone some perspective on what great fighters actually do – they look to fight the biggest challenges, and the best opponents. They dare to be great.

I just keep having images of Cotto getting stung early, weathering the storm and taking Pac’s speed away from him with good movement and body-punching.

I can see this going late with a brutal, ugly rounds from 8-11. Cotto will be coming forwards, Manny will be cut and getting busted up to the body. The foot work won’t be there and he’ll back into the ropes. He’ll try and step to the left to avoid Cotto’s hook to the body, but Cotto will have shifted position and brings a straight right into Pac’s face.

His legs buckle, he tries to step right to get away but Cotto’s followed with a clinical left hook. The one Manny stepped to avoid and crumples after the shot. Cotto flurries, landing hard shots, and the ref steps in to save the Filipino.

That´s exactly what this fight is about...Two of the greatest fighters, facing eachother..in a megafight.. the scenario you come up with, could happen..IMO.
Who has the best gameplan and who can follow it through the fight??

can cotto stand the pressure, and break Manny down??
Mannny keep going up in weight..can he handle the power of Cotto?

I think it will be one the greatest fights this year!!

At first I was leaning towards Pac-Man but now im more towards Cotto. He seems to be way more focused, Also Freddie Roach is trying to psyche him out and I think it just making Cotto work harder. Cotto has the technical skills and over all know how to deal with Pac-Man. The longer it goes the better Cotto chances are, Manny is a fast starter. Cotto has shown the chin and the heart to deal with Manny, Also he has faced far harder punchers if not quite as explosive as Manny.

I dont think Manny will be able to take Cotto's best shots after he sees his own wont hurt Cotto. Accumulation is the only way I see Manny stopping Cotto, whereas Cotto has the power to get it early or late. It wont go to descision.

Cotto may cut early. But I still go for mid fight stoppage, Cotto is so strong in mid rds.

Nice Pick, I think you got it backwards, Pacquiao will be the one getting pounded on the ropes.

I would be great if he did hold for strategy, I like Cotto, but I dont see Cotto do much of holding. It seems like he despises holding as a strategy.

    Fine then

If Pac loses then it was because he was too small.
