actually i think if peter tried to box more in the rematch he will get ko'ed badly. wladimir is far more comfortable verses boxers than he is against unpredictable, wild flurries-type fighters.

for peter to even have a chance, he'll need to be even lower than 243 pounds that he was for their first fight. around 237 sounds good. he needs to duck n weave constantly (which i doubt due to his stamina) and throw wild haymakers. trying to box wladimir is rediculous based on wladimir's success verses technical boxers.

regardless, i see wladimir ko'ing peter in the rematch. bring it on!

Vitali would beat Peter worse than Wlad already did. Very bad style matchup for Peter against Vitali Klitschko.

One other point that nobody has brought up about the McCline fight is that shoving your shoulder into an opponent is not legal. This is what initially caused the problems against McCline. This body move that McCline does by slamming his weight into opponents and then throwing short powershots through that small space is not a legal move. But of course he got away with it.

Waldo will do no such thing because he's constantly in backwards motion against Sam Peter. If he'll do anything he'll try the left hook more often. But as you saw last night, it isn't so easy to catch Sam with a clean left hook anymore.

Wlad is 10 times faster than Oleg Maskaev. You can't even compare the tow. Wlad did not even throw through the target at Peter in the first fight. After the McCline fight I bet the strategy will be much different.

Very well said ! Peter needs serious conditioning !! He's gotta stay away from Blanks for that....but maybe Hopkins can take him under his wing .....;) Peter and Miranda are equally hyped and their aura will diminish in the next year to 1 1/2 years for sure !!

One thing also is that Klitschko has already defeated him before so he would know what works and what wouldn't against Peter if he fought him again. He'd probably pick up the pace a little bit quicker. I do hope this fight goes down tho.

What do you mean, Maskaev got in a few nice left hooks, even stunned Peter with it.

And that's a 39 year old, slow and 2 year inactive Oleg we're talking about! In no way comparable to Klitschko who throws much faster, is more range and more powerful.

Oh please. Here we go again. Go to youtube and watch the video. 8:22 in it shows this now infamous Maskaev left hook that supposidly stunned Sam. It clearly hit Sam's shoulder and knocked him off balance for a second. It did nothing else.

Yea the Waldo who doesn't throw body shots, who is as predictable as John Ruiz. Jab, jab, hold. Jab, jab right hand, hold. Rinse and repeat.

Can anyone say these points are not solid? I think not. Wlad will beat Peter is they fight again.

No i'm talking about the third round. Maskaev lands a right and a left hook that lands high on the head, which staggers Peter and makes go on the back foot during the rest of the round, despite Oleg being in trouble earlier.

Totally irrelevant to what i said.

Just go watch it. 8:22 is the third round and is the exact punch you are talking about. It didn't even touch his head. It hit the shoulder and Sam stumbled backwards because he was in the middle of throwing his own punch.

Totally relevant. Waldo is not this superior room of mirrors. He's predictable. Which is why he didn't do nearly as much damage to Sam Peter as Jameel McCline did in three short rounds.
