well got a fight in about six weeks ( less now actually)...im currently at 90 Kgs with just a little fat around the stomach and in 70% good fighting shape..still recovering from a very traumatic xmass debauchery period....so i would like to fight at 85 kgs ( Thai boxing) personaly i think its possible but hard however i dont want to burn out and get to the fight all mentaly ****ed up and tired...bearing in mind that i work 9 to5 everyday so training hard + resting effectivly with a low carb diet feels like im heading for a breakdown... I might just say ****it and fight at this weight or 88 kg..but my coach said 85...any advice will be appriciated! PEACE!
Plenty of time, especially considering you are heavy now from Christmas. Step up the cardio, a morning run would likely serve best...and tailor the diet a bit (no need for anything severe, just don't eat crap, avoid sodium process loaded foods etc). See where you are in 3 weeks.
That's 2 lbs a week - it's doable. What is your diet like? Give me specifics what you eat every day and when, and what time you workout.
eat plenty of protein and more important high fibre low GI carbs and fluids with evrymeal and snack avoid fatty stuff and simple high GI carbs
each lb of fat is 3500 calories- each kg is 7700 So that means you have to lose 1100 a day Each mile you run is 100cal roughly. So its either continue eating what you eat (2500cal a day) and run 11 miles a day or chop down on food and run. hard. 1kg a week is a LOT to lose- you will be able to lose it, but it wont be fat most likley.
OK thanks for all the advice! My diet goes as follows: 6h00:100 push ups, 100 sit ups. 6h15 am: Bowl of Porridge(oats) with soya milk and a table spoon of honey + 2 boiled eggs and two slices of toast 10h00 am: Orange 12h00:3 mile uphill run fast fast pace 13hoo am: Homemade sandwhich ( two slices of bread some veg and slices of chicken) 14h00 pm: Banana 17h30 pm: Small bowl of chinese noodles 19h30-21h30: Muay thai training everyday ( twice a week gym weights full body workout focus on specifique muscles groups for combat sports) 21h30/22h00rotein drink+ Boiled vegetables (Sweet potato, brocolie, sprouts) + meat or beans + meat or pasta( wholemeal ) with tomato based sauce +meat or omelete. Followed bye a fruit for dessert and a large cup of green tea. Weekends: similar diet to week day exept i have a bigger lunch and smaller dinner. saturday muay thai training 12h00 to 14h00 + gym sunday: Western boxing training 8h30 to 11h00 Im pretty lean as it is at 90 kgs however i still have a bit of fat around the abs but i really feel that at 85 kgs with my frame and reach i could do alot better, thank you all in advance for you advice, Kind regards, Xoum.
