Ariza said the only thing Pacquiao uses for his strength is hard work, a 7,000-calorie-a-day diet and approved supplements, which Ariza gives him. Manny Pac consumes 7,000 Cals..? Is this for real..? Thats a body Builders diet right..? I just find it hard to believe that such a small man, consumes so much. And i know all about the cals in and out dance..!
It is plausible. When training two or three times a day at such great intensity, he would require a much greater than 'normal' calorie intake. I remember the recent news buzz caused when it was revealed that whilst training, Michael Phelps would consume around 12,000 calories a day so as to avoid losing weight.
Yeh man, it makes sense. I try not to pay any attention to this cal intake ****, your body will tell you what it needs....! yes i also heard that about Michael Phelps aswell..!
its not as crazy as you may think the phelps example shows this 12,000 is insane but he cannot afford to lose the muscle with the endurance training the pacman may also have a high metabolism and judging by his body shape and condition hes one of those guys that wouldnt get fat even if he just lay about on his ass eating. the amount of energy he would burn up in training is huge i would be interested in knowing what wlad klits calorie intake whilst in training is? id venture to say that while in high intensity training in order for him to retain his muscle mass he would be near 15,000 a day if phelps is on 12. now thats crazy
7000 calories a day, & 4 hour straight work outs, followed by a beating with bamboo sticks, hes a crazee little man Alex Arthur consumes 6000 calories a day when he trains from what I remember, I think its pretty commonplace nowadays to train in this way.
I wouldnt believe AA takes 6000kcal a day, I've read loads of stuff he's came out and thought it was total cack
Jeez.... they clearly know what they're doing he's the best conditioned fighter in the sport right now.
Not sure, he's in incredible shape. What do you think? I think that 99% of top MMA guys are on growth- not sure with boxing, i'm not familiar with the drug testing methods etc... Jones, Mosley both had very similar bodies to Pac.... I wouldn't be surprised of he was on a cocktail of supplements. Creatine etc are so common now, its harder to find boxers who don't take it. Do you have a breakdown of his training routine?
I know what ya mean TD, Alex Arthur says one thing one day, & the opposite the next! Hes always been a conundrum. As long as he beats Nigel Wright, I dont care if he eats 10 billion calories a day, just as long as he gets the job done & gets back into the title mix
It's almost certainly true. Pacquiao's natural size and weight is not 147lbs - he has a much smaller frame. He has to eat that much and train with such intensity to develop his muscles in order to jump weight divisions. Look at some of the photos mid fight when all his muscles are tensed - it's frightening. It is to all intents and purposes body building needing a high protein diet. I would imagine Floyd had a similar high calorie intake for when he fought Oscar at 154 lbs.
Arthur should have moved up YEARS ago. Its been obvious for such a long time that Arthur was dead at the weight. Im very confident that now Alex is fighting at a healthy weight, we are finally going to see the best of him, all these years after he exploded on the scene as a spotty faced youngster. I could be wrong, but my gut feeling is that theres a final chapter in Arthurs roller coaster career ready for the writing, & it just might have a happy ending!
