Did I say I could read Haye's mind? No. In fact, I actually said I couldn't read his mind. I said it was all speculation.
Yes, fighters do change their mind about things, Haye could have done that, he's
certainly done it before (saying yes to Vitali and then going to Valuev for example).

I haven't read a source that said May or June would have been okay for the UK and also okay with TV rights. That could be true, but I haven't read that.

Let's assume it is true. Like I said before, just because Wlad said he would fight anywhere, that doesn't mean that going into negotiations he doesn't try to get the location he would like best. Those are two different things.

Its quite funny that you seem to know allot about everything else, but anything that puts Wlad in a bad spot you seem to have not read.

Just say you had read that about the dates in England avaliable in May/June, what would you think then?

There is no problem with Wlad preferring Germany, as with Haye preferring England. But Wlad DEMANDED Germany after saying he would fight Haye anywhere just to get him in the ring, Wanting and Demanding is a different thing.( i believe Wlad has the right to fight in Germany, but im only going of what Wlad said, Ill fight him anywhere just to get him in the ring, A blantent lie)

    1) Wlad should have offered Haye the fight imho. I hope he did first but I haven't heard that so assume he did not which I am not happy with.

    2) It could have been since most Brits don't know the Klitchko's so the fight with Chisora could have showcased Wladimir to the UK public who don't even know he exists and used indirectly as a means to promote the fight with Haye.

    3) Depends on money but if it was equal income generated no. He should have taken it with strict stipulations on judges and ref then promised Chisora a fight afterwards.

    4) They only had a few days to finish negotiating with Haye before Wlad had to fight Chisora as per his contract with him. Unless Haye signed the contract with him he had no choice at that moment - he did leave it to the last day before signing.

    5) Haye likes long rests between fights the agreement means he is willing to fight but he wa not being realistic with the timeframes. He may wanty the fight now but fighting once every ten months isn't healthy for Wlad since these are his prime years and Haye needs to understand that. He may do that but Wladimir shouldn't have to he is young, skilled and will otherwise waste his best legacy making years.

    6) I believe Haye wants the fight now but I am pessimistic all the same.

    7) Yes, although I really do think Haye beats Vitali at this point in time because of Vitali's age and so would prefer to see him fight Wlad since both are in their primes.

Side Note: Haye should not have been so greedy for SKY PPV and taken an earlier date or accepted the July the 2nd meeting imo.

Can you show me a link from a reputable news source that says May or June was available for the UK, and no problems with the TV either? I'm not saying it doesn't exist or that it's not true. But, I don't know, and I haven't seen one myself.

I already assumed it was true in my earlier post. Like I said..just because Wladimir said he will fight anywhere, that doesn't mean he goes into the negotiations and immediately gives up his preferred location. That's not how it works.

    1. Why wasn't Haye offered a fight in September, which is now the date for a Wlad/Adamek fight?

lol not sure why fans would know that but Haye himself said "July or never." and thats all we have to go on.

    2. Is it possible to promote a Wlad/Haye fight as well as it should be, given the restrictions of the 8 week gap between the Chisora and Haye fights?

Yes, Tyson/Spinks comes to mind. Plenty of Heavyweight Superfights throughout history have been promoted in that time span.

    3. Was Wlad right to reject a fight in the UK in May? He wouldn't have needed a fight to lose ring rust and it would be a bigger money fight in Britain. Was Wlad right to reject that bout and, if so, why?

According to ESPN it was RTL that ruled May out, unforunately. Haye is the only source I've seen that claimed it was over refusal to travel.

"We couldn't find a date after April, not in May or June," Boente said. "Either there was no date for RTL or Sky or a stadium [because of the heavy soccer schedule]. We couldn't believe it, but that's Sky's decision. April 30 was the perfect date for RTL and for a stadium, but Sky never has done two pay-per-views in one month. Klitschko-Haye would be a way bigger pay-per-view event [than Khan]."
Boente said the earliest date for the fight they could come up with that matched the networks and venue availability was July 2.

    4. This is the biggest fight in Wlad's career so far, so is it unusual he would be happy to disrupt his training which has worked for him so far? He would either have to train for 18+ weeks non-stop, including the Chisora fight, or he would have a rest and then an eventual 6-7 week training camp. Does this make sense, considering it's the biggest fight of his career?

Not the biggest fight of his career, but certainly the biggest fight at the moment. And I don't think we are in position to question Wlad about his own body, I'm sure he knows what's best for himself.

    5. If Haye had no intention to fight Wlad, why did he accept every demand before Klitschko mentioned Chisora?

I have no idea whats going on in Haye's head, I think he probably wants the fight but judging by his rants and past hijinks, he seems to have a very poor attitude and lack of character that have made him untrustworthy and difficult to work with. K2 are stubborn too, but in this instance I can't blame them. I get the impression Haye wants everything on his time line...yeeesh, it took him how to long to accept the 50/50? Oddly, just less than a year before his planned retirement.

    6. If Haye didn't want the fight, why would he accept 50/50, despite bringing over twice as much to the table as Klitschko? Why did he accept the fight to be in Germany, where it isn't neutral, like America, and makes less money than Britain?

:deadYou started off so well with these questions.

    7. Should Vitali ask the WBC if he can unify instead of going ahead with the Solis fight? He and Haye are free and the fight could happen in May in Britain. Should Vitali at least ask for permission to unify?

I would rather see Haye/Wlad but I guess any top heavyweights fighting each other would be nice. An ideal scenario would be Haye beating Vitali and challenging Wlad for all the marbles...but I think we all know the reason why that hasn't been considered.

Because if he does, that means he won't fight both Klitschko's. Obviously he still can but then he'd be looking at a fight later in the year, his last fight, when he previously hasn't faced either brother. Whoever does fight him, would be the last to. As fans, the two fights we want, are Haye vs. both brothers but if he fights Chagaev, that's not possible.

Not only does Haye prefer not to fight so regularly, which you can criticize him for if you want, but there's actually a financial reason too. Sky can't show an unlimited number of PPV's and they already have a contract with Frank Warren, who has two/three PPV cards a year, they have the deal with Khan and then there's Froch, who is most likely going on PPV too and finally Haye. Let's say Warren has two PPV's this year, Khan has two, Froch has one, against Ward, how is it possible that Haye can have three? It's too many PPV's to sell.
"I was available to fight in May and June, yet Klitschko only gave me dates of 30 April and 2 July. The April date would be too close to Amir Khan's next fight, and prove problematic with Sky Box Office, so we settled for July."

The dates he is on about, are stadium dates in Germany. Had Klitschko been willing to fight in Britain, the fight could have happened in May or June.

Do you criticize Wlad for this?
Because he actually wanted the fight to happen? Haye doesn't need anything, really. Neither do the Klitschko's though, to be fair, but we've seen who made the most concessions and who wouldn't live up to their word, when they said they'd "fight anywhere".

Because Wlad had no intention of fighting Haye. K2 have been in negotiations with Adamek for weeks/months for the September date. No way Wlad was going to fight Chisora, Haye then Adamek all in the space of 6 months. This whole scenario stinks of payback for Haye choosing Valuev over Vitali.

No. To assume a promotional tour covering America, the UK and Germany could be conducted with enough time for recovering and training is crazy. Lesser fights have been given 12 weeks+, this fight deserves proper promotion.

No. After calling Haye out he should have followed through. To say Haye done the same to the brothers doesn't wash with me. Klitschko fans called Haye a ***** for such actions, will they be willing to do the same with Wlad?

Don't forget to add Adamek!! That would mean Wlad would fight April 30th, July 2nd and then September. Those that may suggest Adamek was a back up plan are wrong. You don't negotiate a date for a stadium in Poland with Polands biggest fighter as a back up plan. Crazy talk.

Haye had every intention of fighting Wlad, it was Wlad who had no intention of fighting Haye.

Haye wanted the fight, Wlad wanted to teach him a lesson.... or something......

Yes. A mandatory opponent recieves 30%, far more than the usual 10-15% K2 pay for voluntary fights therefore now's the time. Whether Haye accepts after what has just happened is another matter.

I'd ask you to consider the other statements from Boente, especially about the fight location, when he says that wherever makes the most money, that's where the fight would happen. I'm sure it's the same logic he'd apply to which network they choose and, in which case, Showtime can't live with HBO. If both offered money, HBO would win and for a one-off fight, it'd make sense to be on that network.

It's pretty much irrelevant though. Whether it would be HBO or Showtime, the fact is, both of these companies would ask and expect Haye and Klitschko to extensively promote a fight in America. Given the time constraints that are already an issue, I'm sure this would be a problem. 8 weeks is shorter than both Haye's and Wlad's average training camp so how could they fit a promotional tour in America in between that? And, like I said before, that's assuming that they ignored Britain, Germany and other countries which I don't think they would do.

I remember them hyping the fight in 2009, when Klitschko came over here, Haye went over there, photos were taken in football stadiums, both guys were on TV shows etc., and this was just being promoted in two countries. Now that it's a much, much bigger fight, there would be more promotion in those two countries, additional promotion in other places and obviously a large amount would be needed for America.

I can't see how that is possible in, at the most, two weeks.
I agree that when you discuss the location, it's a bit tricky. We don't know how many fans would turn up in either country, the exact ticket price, advertisements, sponserships and so on. However, what we do know is what has happened in the past and that points to saying more money is available in Britain, mainly because of the differences in average ticket price. I think it's sensible just to assume more money would be made in Britain, based on the three facts I've said a few times: The pound is stronger than the Euro, it would sell out Wembley (80,000) which I don't think a stadium in Germany can match and the average ticket price is higher. There are more variables but they are near impossible to discuss.

The quote you mentioned though, is Haye admitting to a concession! That's Haye bending right there.
I agree. I don't think history really remembers the situation at the time though. They just remember who was the better fighter and I'd pick Chagaev over Peter 10/10. Peter's best win will go down as Maskaev, who was shot, or Toney, who was shot and obese.
Yeah, some fighters do have an easy time. Usually though, those fighters are the ones who have nothing to lose and are happy to get ripped off, just to make the fight happen. Look at the difference between what Briggs said when he was champion and when he wasn't. When he was, he was the first person to use the term "slave contracts" and then when he was given a shot years later, he had nothing but praise.

Regardless of anything else, the list of fighters who have made accusations about K2, is far greater than the number who have dealt with Haye, so if there are issues, you'd have to assume who is at fault.

On Povetkin, apparently Sauerland was going to rip him off. Obviously $2.3m is a decent payday for him but he wouldn't have seen close to that. That's not Klitschko's problem though, I know, but I'm just mentioning why he walked away from it.

But surely you would still criticize him, one, for going back on his word and then not being willing to fight over here?

I posted a quote in another post.

Tyson vs. Spinks was an all-American fight and Tyson was already a huge star at that point. The fight didn't need selling, just like, say, Mayweather vs. De La Hoya II wouldn't need selling.

Haye vs. Klitschko is entirely different.
That quote doesn't really mean anything in relation to what I said. Like I said, the fight was possible in May but only if Klitschko fought over here. That quote from Boente doesn't relate to that.
We can assume that Wlad, like all fighters, has a perfectly designed training routine for each fight, which happens to be a 10+ week camp. Unless you're saying he's goes into every fight with poor preparation, we can assume it is illogical that he'd change for the biggest fight of his career.
Of course it took him a long time to accept 50/50 but so it should! Why didn't Wlad accept the rightful figure, less than 50%? He brings less than 50% to the table so he should take away less. If the negotiations porgressed slowly because of Wlad's insistence on 50/50, then that's his fault.

If Haye can accept less than he deserves, why didn't Klitschko accept a fee he actually deserves? Surely you'd concede that Haye did more to make the fight?

What is the reason? And please don't say "because Haye is scared" or whatever. Vitali is the only one who can make the fight happen right now, yet he isn't doing anything.
