If that's the case, yeah, but I don't think that's likely, honestly. I think Chisora would be the opponent next, because Wlad wants to remain active. I can't see him waiting until August/September and fighting them two in quick succession. I think it would matter in America moreso than Britain and Germany. It would be the first heavyweight fight to be shown on HBO in some time and HBO would demand that the fighters actually promote it in America too, but with the obviously time restrictions, I can't see HBO being too pleased with the eventual promotion. It's funny though because money has been a sticking point throughout the negotiations, even concerning hundreds of thousands, such as the RTL/ARD deals. Surely if money is such a major point, both sides would want to do as much promotion as possible? They could, yes, and that's the best alternative if Haye isn't going to fight both Klitschko's. I just think that if Vitali wanted the fight, he could ask the WBC for permission, we'd get Haye/Vitali now instead of two madatory fights nobody is really interested in and, if Haye beat Vitali, we'd then be looking at a massive fight with Wlad. That's the ideal scenario, in my view. 1. I know where you're coming from, but if Wlad chooses to have another fight in between a Haye bout, the WBA won't allow Haye to postpone his mandatory again, meaning that he'd also have to fight. 2. Maybe he wasn't expecting Haye to accept and then the blame would be on Haye for the fight not happening? One thing Booth has always said is that when dealing with Boente, he always made things difficult and said things like "if you don't agree, the fight is off" and in that case, Haye would be blamed. In fact, I'd blame Haye too, just like I blame Wlad.
That's fair enough and I agree. Looking at the fight from an American perspective, as it would be on HBO, do you think the public know enough about both of these two? There aren't many hardcore fans around any more and I truly don't know if the fight would get the attention of the average American. The thing I've always thought about this fight is that with the right promotion, it could be enormous. Right now, it's a big fight but it could be even bigger. Heavyweight boxing in America is dead and neither of the big networks will consider showing it because it's such a boring division but I think this fight could change that in America. Both Haye and Wlad are knockout artists, both have suspicious chins and the fight promises to end in a knockout. Both are good looking, charming guys who come across well on camera. Haye is naturally charismatic and would grab attention from non-fans and Wlad is a marketable guy with a famous girlfriend and so on. I think this fight has the potential to force attention to the heavyweight division which has been a laughing stock for years. Since Lewis retired, the division has steadily become more embarrassing to the point where the biggest heavyweight title fights are shown on an internet channel with only serious fans watching. I truly think this fight, more than any other potential bouts right now, can change that. Especially if Haye won, and I'm not saying that as a biased fan because I've always said I prefer Wlad as a fighter, but if Haye won, the division would have a star and there would be some prestige back in the division, which has been wiped out thanks to undeserving challengers, boring fights and nameless, faceless champions. As far as the attendances go, it would be pretty similar. Wembley, which is an 80,000 seater soccer stadium, are optimistic is would sell out here. The old Wembley, as it was rebuilt, was the arena for Bruno/McCall and they are looking to recreate that fight. I'm confident 80,000 tickets would be sold with few problems. In Germany, I'd expect 60,000 seats with no problems. I honestly don't know which arenas are suitable but the biggest in Germany is 80,000 too and I think they could do that. The big difference is that British ticket prices are far more expensive than ones in continental Europe. My brother went to Haye/Harrison and he paid, for a decent view, probably the second or third tier, the same price you'd get for a perfect view in Germany, around the most expensive seats behind the floor. The difference really is big in ticket prices, so 80,000 Germans doesn't equate to 80,000 British people. That's fair enough and I should be clear that I'm not saying Wlad can't do it, but the Haye camp are suspicious so my question is more along the lines of "Are they right to be suspicious?". I think it's pretty unusual personally but I do see your point I agree with where you're coming from when you do say it. Again, I agree. I said in another thread a while ago that I blame them both and this is where I blame Haye: I think he should have gone ahead with the fight regardless of anything. That said, he made every concession Wlad asked him to and, when he thought the fight was signed, Wlad then mentioned Chisora. There must have been a point where he thought "What the **** can I do?". That's where I blame Wlad because he made a list of demands, Haye accepted every one and then he added another. I can understand just thinking "I'm done with the Klitschko's, **** them". ...in fact, I'm thinking right now "I'm done with boxing, **** it" The negotiations are so ****ing annoying at times. Agreed. At the end of the day, all us fans want, is to see the best fights possible and it should be up to us to encourage the fighters to sign. I'm happy to criticize Haye, Wlad, Pacquiao, Mayweather etc., because I want to see these fights. It's annoys me so much when fans blindly defend one guy, just because he's their favourite. The only person who loses out is us, the fans. Whilst those fighters I listed drive back from a luxury golf resort to their mansions in a brand new Ferrari, you have fans on the internet who blindly defend their every move, and there is absolutely no incentive for these fighters to fight the best because they're going to be blindly supported anyway. It's wrong and it's the reason these fights fall apart, time and time again.
Have to go with that Jack. Answer that honestly and I WILL answer the rest of your Haye nuthugger bull**** questions. Might even answer why you have those Haye posters in your bedroom!
Still not a decent arguement been put over by a Klit fan since i was last on. They keep deflecting and coming back with bull****,and only one set of fans seem disappointed the fight isnt happening.
:good It does get beyond frustrating. Makes me want to focus on the underbelly of boxing, I guess I shouldnt say underbelly, but not the main mainstream like Pac, Mayweather, ect.... That bantam tourny, 140 cooking up, next stage of super six, these are the things that carry me through boxing when its poster boys are letting it down. IMO.
 Should he crawl on his hands and knees and beg Haye to fight him? It takes two to fight, Haye already broke a verbal agreement with Vitali. Why didn't Haye call Vitali out? "I'm done with the Klistchko(S)" is all we've heard from him. You just claimed how you want to see the best fights and are sick of people defending their favorites but than make a post like this that bashes Vitali without once mentioning how Haye said he's done with both brothers. I can see how biased you are and sadly you are dead serious as opposed to amusing trolls like Hendo and Relentless...I'll be putting you on ignore.
Of course not. I don't Vitali should beg him, but he should at least show he was open to the fight, if he was. He didn't do that. He could have said "If Haye wants to fight me instead, we can do it" but he didn't - He didn't do anything, despite all the excitement about a fight between the two. The fact he didn't call Haye out is strange. He just ignored him and proceeded to fight his mandatory. I think fif Haye had done the same or even if Wlad had done the same, they would come under rightful criticism. Are you saying I haven't criticized Haye for doing that? If you are, I'd tell you to look back at my other posts. I'm NOT a biased Haye fan. I don't like the fact he's said he's done with them (Even though he retarcted it the next day, which you ignore) and I do criticize him for that. That said, his reasoning for not calling Vitali out is justified because Vitali was unavailable because of his mandatory. He should have asked permission to fight Haye but didn't. The ball was in his court, not Haye's.
I think both guys wanted the fight, Haye included. He is a valid dangerous opponent for Wlad and may well win. The problem is that Haye has no 'deal making' credibility because he shot it when he pulled out of the WK and the VK fights, ****ing people around. To do business you have 'your word is you bond' and act with integrity. Acting otherwise pisses people off and they don't forget. Its hard to do professional sports contracts due to dates, factors. Let alone with Haye who has not always acted with integrity, who says one thing and does another. Pulling out of two contracts does not make you look credible when it comes to making future deals. You can say one thing about Wlad - he is honoring the fight with Chisora. This tells future opponents that he is a man of his word. Very un-Haye like.
Compare Haye's behavior with Adamek, another fighter coming up to heavyweight. Adamek acts like a man of his word, fights regularly and walks the walk. An old-school fighter. He got a contract done with WK pretty damn quick because he is a man you can deal with. Its a shame Haye does not do the same because inactivity really hurts a fighter and Haye has some real talent.
Its funny how respectable tough workers like Adamek and Chambers who earned their rankings the hard way had no trouble securing a title shot with Wlad...while Povetkin and Haye only have excuses to their credit.
adamek fought bums his last few fights and struggled with them.:smoke and the only reason adamek got the fight done is because he's getting alot less than haye was, he works for half the price like his friends in the UK.
