For one, a good amount of Ward fans from the bay area and Dirrell fans from Michigan or Flint would certainly make the trip to see that fight. Then, you have the remaining fans from the rest of the country who are just looking for an excuse to go to Vegas anyway. Lastly, you have the thousands and thousands of people who happen to be on vacation in Vegas, and happen to notice that a televised main attraction is going on just blocks away, and therefore decide to go regardless of who the hell it is fighting, but rather just to see a fight.

All your posts prove how little you know about Vegas. You think this fight caters to tourists who would happen to be in Vegas?

I don't recall saying that. Nice try though. I simply said there are thousands of tourists who have the option of going simply by walking a few blocks. But, now that I think of it, in that sense, yes...every fight in Vegas caters to tourists. So, correct me if I'm wrong. Who exactly does Vegas cater to? And tell me all about how much you know about Vegas, if you could.

Just why the hell are most of the major fights held in Vegas anyway? Is it because that's the hometown of most of the major fighters?

No, it is because the casinos pay a fee to the promoters to hold the fight at their location. The casino can then entice their highest rollers into town with the potential for free tickets etc...

Outside of casinos, the promoter often has to pay rent to hold an event at the arena. Big difference.

And are those casinos filled with locals or tourists?

It depends on how big the fight is, but often they're not filled with anyone.

Thought the fight was in Detroit.
