7 year anniversary of Undefeated- Floyd Mayweather vs Ricky Hatton

hatton fought pac the same way he fought mayweather but did not understand one key differnce PAC HITS MUCH HARDER HAHAHAH

 

Not that I am a huge fan of Floyd when it comes to his opponent selection, but there are a couple of truths that need to be told.

- at the time, the amount people clamouring for this fight was huge and in the UK at least a lot of people believed that Hatton has what it takes to win (remember ESB poll on the British Forum being about 50/50)
- Mayweather was getting the better of Hatton on the inside anyway, so the fact that Cortez broke them up is really irrelevant here

 

Prime Hatton was at 140 around then kosta fight. 147 is never prime Hatton.

 

Speaking as a Brit, most of us acknowledge the glaring limitations in Hatton's boxing game. He had heart, could take a punch and had decent power. Defensively he was maybe slightly more competent than Provodnikov! As soon as he stepped up to the elite level he was exposed. Pacquiao figured out and exposed his limitations far quicker than Mayweather. A good litmus test for how they would have fared against each other.

 

It was always a mismatch,no matter what version of Hatton.

 

Being there is one thing. But if this fight made u love the sport I see you have very low standards

 

The fight that really got me into boxing, i still watch the dvd sometimes.

 

Floyd dragged up Hatton to 147. This fight meant very little. Hatton at his best = 140.
