Watch the previous round. Vitali gets hit and runs across the ring like somebody escaping a burning house. Sanders could have won that fight if he had the legs to move along with a decent level of stamina and conditioning.
Round 1 Vitali was nailed hard with a counter shot he didn't see coming and he was backed up hard. Round 2 Vitali pretty much dominated bar 1 or 2 shots he could skip away from. Round 3 was the round when he got hit hard early in the round and couldn't just try back pedalling for the round, and this is where he's different to Wlad. Wlad would have hugged for 3 minutes, Vitali chose to fight. I can't imagine anyone being strong enough to clinch Foreman anyways and slugging it out isn't gonna work for Vitali, but he will go down swinging imo. Tko 6 No chance of Sanders winning though, Vitali was able to out slug him in round 3 when they stood toe to toe and Sanders sure as **** isn't gonna outbox Vitali.
Musta been the first round i was thinking of. I though Sanders was able to out box Vitali pretty well for the limited time he had gas in the tank. His mouth just dropped open after the 3rd and he got picked off.
Last 30 seconds of round 1, Vitali backtracked and ran. But when a similar shot landed in the third, early on in the round he stood and exchanged. I've no doubt he would try to exchange with Foreman. Sanders wasn't good enough. He nailed Vitali with the same shots he caught Wlad. Difference is Vitali didn't drop like Wlad did, he didn't waste time trying to tie him up like Wlad did. Sanders was quick enough to hit Vitali but when it came down to a war Vitali was clearly the victor. Sanders isn't active enough or quick enough of feet to box at range, his defence isn't good enough to avoid what's coming back at him. Sanders did not have what it took to beat Vitali. All he had was a speed advantage over Wlad. In Wlad he had someone who panics when hurt. Sanders was good enough to beat Wlad but not his big brother.
I think that's a good summary. Prime Foreman is all about attack and would not rest until he found a way to get to Vitali. To be fair, despite Vitali's tendency to sc.rap when the gauntlet was thrown down, I don't think he'd have had much choice but to stand and trade. Foreman was so hellbent on getting home, he stalked his opponents like a man possessed; cutting off the ring came so naturally to him, there seemed very few moments when he wasn't right on top of them. Either way, a full blown engagement does seem inevitable but Vitali in a firefight with Foreman would make his bout with Lewis seem like some tough sparring. Great while it lasted but this isn't going beyond the first half, with Foreman coming out on top.
I think Vitali would be like a better version of Lyle. He'd land the right hand down the pipe but Foreman wouldn't be able to break him down like he did with Lyle. Ditto Lewis.
to be fair, a 38 year old man has never had what it takes to beat a titlist, with very few exceptions. sanders, a fat failure who couldnt manage contention in his prime, isnt an exception. Shuold never have been in a title ring in the first place. This guy is getting used as a yardstick for ATG undisputed world champ unbeaten gold medallist foreman. some kliturds need to get a brain.
It was a great fight with good hype. Did you not enjoy watching Vitali v Sanders? The reason he got the fight is because he beat Wlad who was previously ranked number 1. No one is using Sanders as a yard stick here. This isn't the general forum.
noones denying it was fun to watch. theres a degree of artificiality about a 37 year old retiree being number 1 when he was unable to get a sniff at it in his prime. You must see that, you are not a stupid person. read further up, my friend, you will see a small herd of kliturds trying it one.
thats because wlad was a weak h2h champ, not because who beat him were great. both klit-sanders fights were good fun to be sure though.
HerolGee, A few questions. How come Geroge Foreman who was 25 quickly gassed out vs Ali? George looked slow and out of gas, with limited poise and smarts. How come, Foreman, age 27 was rocked by Ron Lyle in round one, floored by Lyle in round 4, hurt in round 5, looked slow as and tired? Yes he won, but this suggests he would not last long vs Vitali who was bigger, hit as hard, and had a much better chin in comparison to Lyle. How come, Foreman, age 28 was floored and gassed vs a light hitting, Jimmy Young. Foreman collapsed in his dressing room, suggesting had this fight been a little longer, he's knock out. Vitali was not only very mobile, he kept his stamina and power late. I look forward to reading your answers.
No one said he was great. What I'm saying is his ranking was well deserved because he beat Wlad who was ranked number 1. They were excellent.
Foreman aged 806 was able to outlast a prime Moorer. Any issues with regards to stamina are answered right there.
