Machen was slick and dazzling enough to survive the wrath of Foreman's mentor, a prime Sonny Liston for the distance. Could he survive the wrath of Liston's disciple, George Foreman?

I could see Eddie Machen scoring an upset over pre-Frazier Foreman. After he won the title, no way.

You would have to favor Foreman, but I would steer him clear of this fight if I was managing him.

Foreman should tracks down Eddie, force him to the ropes, goes to the body with power. IF he makes it happen, then Machen would gets belted with ease.
But if Machen's elusiveness helps him to stay away from the MUCH stronger fighter and survive the early rounds, He might have written a different result, Ali showed in Zaire George was vulnerable to quick counterpunchers, and Machen would have, like Jimmy young, reinforced that.
I don’t know which one of them would have prevailed., If Eddie is able to hears the bell for the 6th round, he would wear Foreman down.
Could he have survived 5 rounds? I don't know.
I give Foreman a slight advantage, but verrrrrrryyyyyy slight. 50,9/49,1.

Machen gets to the end of the fight, to lose a decision. Moral victory.

Eddie Machen would bend down a lot for defense which would be perfect for Foremans uppercut so i predict a knockout for Foreman not sure what round though
