I must admit it sure seems so.

Ali,Frazier,Foreman and Holmes (On most people's Top 10)

And then you have guys like

    Lyle,Shavers,Chuvalo,spinks, Quarry,Patterson,Bonavena,Norton,Young
    Ellis,Mathis and bugner.

Tyson definitley is and Bowe should be in the top 20 at least judging him from the 1st Holyfield fight.

You also had old Holmes and Foreman

Golotta, Buster Douglas, McCall, Tucker, Sanders, Herbie Hide, Akiwande, Briggs, Tony Tucker, Maskeev, Larry Donald.

90s had the deepest ever talent pool

Don't get me wrong the 90's is a very good era. Just not quite as good as the 70's.

The very fact you're mentioning Leon Spinks proves what an overrated era it was.

Spinks or no Spinks. No other era beats it.

The 1990s does run it close though. I think the Top 10 of the 1970s has the edge nonetheless.

Do you honestly believe fighters like George Chuvalo and Earnie Shavers were better than Donovan Ruddock or Tommy Morrison?

The problem with the contenders of the '60s and '70s is that they have become 'name' opponents just because they fought Muhammad Ali. There is nothing aside from that name that makes Oscar Bonavena more deservable of mention than David Tua.
