70s HW Contender with the best resume who wasn't champion?

    In that case I’d pick Lyle over Young. Close doesn’t count as Young had so many really close bouts that could have went his way against Ali and Norton. But again. Close doesn’t count. Besides Foreman the rest of his record is blah. I’d also agree Quarry was at his best in the 60s

    Lyle had Shavers and Bugner as main wins, right? Then I'd have Young's Lyle and Foreman wins as better, even if you don't count Ali, Norton or Shavers (the draw),
