    One of those no-win fights for Ezz.

    You beat Joe and you turn off a lot of people for beating up an old man and ending a legend.

    You lose and, well, you lost to an old man.

    It’s not quite Larry Holmes-Muhammad Ali but the bottom line in public reaction isn’t a lot different.

    Indeed.

    never liked this fight,Joe was on his fight-for-a-nickle tour.

    Its quite possible that the two greatest fighters ever were in the ring that night even though one was long past it.

    Seeing Charles face after the fight and seeing how slow Joe was during it leads me to believe Joe takes him out pre 1945

    Agreed. Charles was probably p4p a better fighter but Joe was one of the great heavyweight kings

    If he isn't the greatest ever, then he is (unquestionably) a top 3 P4P fighter.
