Ali would have picked Tyson apart. In fact,as I've often said, the 1974 Ali would have even beaten the slightly more polished Tyson of '88. For starters,Muhammad would have been able to stand up to Tyson's best, and once the fight went into the trenches, for sustained spells,Tyson would unravel. After softening him up,Ali would stop Tyson around the tenth round.
V.much Like teh Rumble in Jungle IMO - BUT Tyson gets tired quicker! Ali KO7 BOOOOOOOAYE!!! :happy:happy:happy
tyson would finish that clown especially if he tried that rope a dope bull**** tyson was the 2nd best finisher after joe louis and he would have annihilated him.
If George Foreman and Sonny Liston could n't faze Ali,then Tyson would have had stood no chance of doing so.
Explain you view,Ironchamp. If the '86 Tyson could n't knock James Tillis or Mitch 'Clutcher' Green out, then how the hell would have knocked Ali out ?
'86 was a transitional year for Tyson much like '63 was transitional for Ali. Ali went from struggling with Doug Jones and getting dropped by Cooper to beating Sonny Liston a few months later. Tyson was still a bit green during the Tillis and Green fights but was maturing pretty quickly as each fight passed. If we are talking about Tyson from the Tillis or the Green fight then Ali gets the edge but Tyson from the Berbick fight was mentally, physically and emotionally ready for a high profile fight. Ali at that point was on the decline; his legs were going and he couldn't dance for 15 like he may have in '67. His ability to improvise and adapt was second to none but only when presented with certain styles. Don't get me wrong Ali was still a good fighter and among the division's best, but if you pitting him against Tyson in 86 he's at a severe disadvantage. Ali from Zaire wouldn't beat Frazier from FOTC because he'd lack the conditioning and lateral movement to beat Joe. The reason why he was able to deal with Frazier in Manilla in a high octane fight was because both Muhammad and Joe aged together. With Tyson his hand speed was at it's best, his conditioning was supreme and he had come together as a finished product. Tyson wasn't as busy as Joe, he was a bit more economical but he started fast and applied tremendous pressure early and often. The difference in the bout would be hand speed; namely Tyson's hand speed. At 32 Ali didn't have the same speed he had 10 years prior and this is where the fight would be won. Ali's bravery, chin and hand speed was quick enough to beat Foreman. The advantage was clear when he started landing right hand leads early in the fight. I just don't think would be able to beat Tyson to the punch, rather I think it would be the other way around. Why do I think Ali would get stopped? Because he would fight to win; meaning he would engage, get caught with a big shot and succumb to a barrage of punches.
Ali has an excellent shot here actually. harder hitting then his former self and he takes a better shot.
Yeah okay. Liston, Lyle, Foreman, and other thugs couldnt do it, and 5"11' mentally ****ed up Tyson is gonna do it? :huh
