69.99 has pretty much been the standard for HD PPV for a couple of years now, so... :blood You have a skewed idea of the economic state of the world if you think a majority of boxing fans (let alone every one) even possesses an HD capable set and subscribes to a Hi-Def cable package. I believe they have.
gotta disagree on the T.V. deal was a cable installer for a while dirt poor people still have HD T.V.'s.

I miss the days of closed circuit. Today you order and watch it maybe with a few friends and have a fight party (and half of them barely care) or maybe even alone. In the closed circuit days, for me it meant loading up a car and driving an hour to the nearest 'big city' and watching it with a few thousand (sometimes several thousand) people and it was more like going to a live show -- you mix and mingle with fellow fight fans, argue over who is going to win, etc. One of my memories of that was the first night I moved to Nashville, Tennessee, for my first job out of college -- it was Leonard vs. Hagler on closed circuit at the downtown arena. I knew no one, had to ask to even find out how to get there. But I went and it was packed, sat in an area where there were fans cheering for both sides and had a ball. Struck up some instant friendships with locals who cared as much about boxing as I did. You just don't get that experience today.
What he meant by that IB is that almost everyone now after 2007 almost have a cellphone or HDTV since HDTV nowadays are dirty cheap in the $250-300 range when back in 2007, the same HDTV's are like $700-900 bucks. Damn even 6-10 year old kids have their own damn mini laptops and tablets lol So even Trailer Trash hillbillys have the basic 32 inch HDTV and I wouldn't be surprise if they all have Ipads too lol
