It is being reported that GBP made the Berto camp a $750 K offer to face Mosley. According to the report this is viewed as a lowball offer.

Also, it seems that HBO is also screwing up chances of Collazo-Berto rematch because they are offering them less money than the 1st encounter.

How much has Berto been making in his last few fights and is he really deserving?

Is $750K a lowball offer for Berto?

I don't think so. He is not a hot name and this is not a fight that is going to sell a lot. It will be on regular HBO which kills the PPV revenue. You'll have some ticket sales, a site fee from the casino and some money from HBO. that's about it.

    Let me say this:

In this current economic climate ANY fighter that turns down decent money for a fight is an idiot.

No it's not a low ball offer. It's this kind of thing that's ruining boxing at the moment. Boxers getting it into their heads that they're worth marquee fighter paydays simply because they hold an alphabet strap. To me it shows how little faith Berto's team have in him because, what they're basically saying is, $750000 isn't enough to sacrifice his title and unbeaten record.

The article also said that he made more for Urango and Collazo. I guess the article meant that he made more per fight than the sum of both those fights.

If he did berto is beign overpaid by HBO

Good, I hope the fight doesn't happen with Mosley. Mosley should quit being a ***** by trying to fight Berto (who he knows he will beat) and grow some balls and go after Paul Williams. I guarantee you PW would accept this offer. As far as HBO goes, they are really ****ing up lately. Pretty soon, if it hasn't happened already, Showtime is going to become the main channel for boxing that shows all the big fights. HBO should end their devotion (or deal if that's what they have) with GBP and make a deal with Top Rank because even if Bob Arum is a piece of ****, he promotes most of the top fighters out there, GBP has almost none left except Mosley (who's 37) JMM (who's 35) and Ortiz who just got smacked around and quit his last fight.

Its not lowball. Neither guy is a big draw and it is not a huge fight. What kind of money was Berto making prior??? Thats the question. I guarantee he did not crack over 300k yet probably.

Shane Mosley is starting to become the joke of boxing....he chased Money and Pacman around knowing he wasnt going to get a fight with either one, then he openly says he refuses to fight Paul Williams, and now this....750,000 is an insult to Berto and Mosley is the one reaching out to his camp....Mosley needs to grow some balls and fight PWILL, its a big risk but the best foght out there(and it would make good $$$)

Man's worth can never be found in dollars. No matter what, he is valuable and deserves what he deems worthy of his sacrifice.

Berto only made 472K for Collazo........ and he got 70% of that purse b/c well it was Collazo. Mosley is no huge draw but a bigger draw than Berto. 750k is about even money if he is confident he can win. But if he has doubts I would most def want to cash out higher.

This. They really need to wake the **** up and see how many people are struggling to make it. $750k when you little recognition to the American public is not a lowball.

And Why did Mosley refuse to fight Paul Williams? Mosley made "that" mistake twice before...When he moved up to fight NATURALLY BIGGER fighters like Winky Wright (Twice) and Vernon Forrest (Twice) and LOST!! And with Williams last fight at 160lbs and on fight night he came in at 168lbs. To think Williams would even come back to Welterweight (147lbs) would be CRAZY!! Mosley is a FUTURE HALL OF FAMER!!! Personally I think he would lose vs. Berto...But JOKE OF BOXING....THATS ABSURD!!!

Paul Williams ends almost every sentence by saying that he will move back down to 147 for the right fight. If he signs he contract and makes the commitment to make the weight you can't just assume that he won't

    Berto vs Steve Forbes
    1. Berto got $300,000
    2. Forbes got $150,000

This fight Berto should definitely take for $750,000 when he fought on the undercard of the Mosley-Mayorga fight he didn't look that great.
