the 4 different weight lineal titles is more of pacquiao's record book achievment to me, there is so many alpha titles, that gets overblown...
I don't think anyone would say pac or floyd or oscar's Xty belts in a gazillion divisions is more of an accomplishment that what Armstrong did. 3 titles when there was one champ and eight divisions is worth a lot more, sure. But 5, 6 or 7 in the modern era is APPROACHING that kind of thing.
The 4 lineal titles is the biggest achievement. Ledwaba and Diaz were dominating wins in brutal fashion but they weren't nearly considered the top dogs in their respective divisions at the time.
:good. IBO is nothing- it wound me up so much when Hatton was claiming that he was the 'IBO World Champion'. The Ring belt is, in the majority of cases and IMO, the lineal title but officially Pacman has won 4 proper alphabet world titles. If we're counting the belts that mean Jack, then remember Hector Camacho? He can claim to be a sextuple champ having fought for the IBC belt, and the like, after winning genuine world titles at 3 different weights (that said, the WBO wasn't that highly regarded in the 80s either).
