Finnish based Kosovan Tatli defends his European Lightweight title against once beaten Frenchman Marvin Petit. Petits lone loss coming to the currently surging Yvon Mendy back in 2013 which was decided by only a round on 2/3 of the judges cards. Tatli went on to beat Mendy 2 years later for the vacant EBU - European title that he has defended successfully 4 times and still holds today in an only once broken run(he went 1-1 with Francesco Patera last year) Robert Helenius rematches 10-16 journeyman who's riding an 0-2 streak the most recent fight being a 6th round stoppage at the hands of 12-0 German CW prospect Huseyin Cinkara and before that a highly controversial decision to Helenius himself in Estonia. Anyone interested in this one at all? The main event is a fairly solid European level affair and the HW fight is a train wreck that many of us probably won't be able to look away from.
So is there still a vocal crowd of folks who believe Helenius can somehow be a contender or did that finally die off in the last two years or so (which was still about 4-5 years too late to come to realization)? I know everybody falls in love with a killer on the senior circuit, but c'mon, not sure what blinded folks with Helenius for so long.
It's finally died down. Helenius has been done since 2012-2013. I tried telling people he was shot when he made his comeback bid.... He's not even European level at this point.
